I have spent the last 30+ years as either an ambulance attendant or EMT on
a rural ambulance. Our calls range from the elderly who really just want to
talk to someone to serious multi-vehicle accidents. These years of pre-
hospital emergency care combined with hundreds of inter-facility transfers
have given me a unique level of experience. I have also been a
firefighter, Engineer and Captain on the fire department. I have been
involved in many extrications, rollovers and fatal accidents. This
position requires the creation of very detailed and accurate reports, if it
is not in the report, it didn't happen.
I have also been a drug and alcohol technician for the past 2 years for
EMSI. This involves conducting random, post accident and reasonable
suspicion DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol tests for the FAA, TSA, Amtrak,
Southwest Airlines, Walmart and many others.
I have been in Northern Nevada my entire life and worked for the local
power company for 29 years. Besides the normal operating duties which
include safe and efficient delivery of power to the WSCC power grid, I also
created many Word documents and Excel spreadsheets for use in daily
operations. I have been involved in many committees with duties including
secretary and chairman. I have been a liaison between operations and
management; I have also been involved in union contract negotiations. I
have worked thousands of hours as a working shift foreman. I also designed
and played the main role in implementing the 12 hour shift schedule that
the plant has used for the past 15 years.
I have retired from the power company and would like to find a new locale
to live in. I am too young to sit around without a job, so I would like to
spend the next 10 years or so working full time at something new.
