Specialist / CAD Designer

DOD secret clearance, current. Contracted to Boeing Co. Used MicroStation

V8 and AutoCAD 2007 to apply area standards for mechanical engineered

drawings for GMD (Ground Missile Defense) project Facilities Team.

Electrical drawings include schematic, one-lines, and power systems from

transformers to equipment for government buildings. Electrical distribution

panels, cable tray lay outs, MCC's, switchgear, junction box design and

electrical distribution panels. Structural drawings included seismic layout

for equipment including isometric views drawings.

BioEngineering Group, Metairie, LA 70006 Senior Designer

Used Micro Station and N-Roads working with the Army Corps of Engineers

redesigning the Levees in and around the New Orleans area. Re-designed

levee walls and roadways to update in compliance with government standards

for low lying areas. Contract position.

Structural Designer/Detailer Working for Skanski Staffing; AutoCAD 2004,

layout and prepared drawings for Motiva Enterprise, Port Arthur, TX.

Design development of conduit and wiring of new MVCS thermal oxidizer and

safety skid arrangements for recovery of hydrocarbon vapors pumping fluids

from the refinery to ship tanks/ barges. Conoco / Phillips, Lake Charles,

LA. Layout of dock vapor expansion loading arm (piping and electrical) with

tie-in's to MVCS system safety skid. Also new drip leg level transmitter.

Port of Beaumont Rail Expansion Project. Layout of rail illuminating

floodlights to include conduit and wiring as required by AREMA standards to

meet 2FC level. Farmer Grain Terminal, Mound, LA. Developed CAD drawings

of concrete foundation and new foundation expansion for preliminary bids.

Northrop Grumman Industries, Avondale, LA Electrical Designer

Using Intergraph 3D Modeling Software, checked and prepared as-built

electrical drawings for LPD-19 thru 22 (the New Yorker) ships. Prepared

electrical wire way and equipment layout drawings for production and

installation from one-line and lighting diagrams as per Military Standards.

Route cable for Access Control Systems, Intrusion Prevention and Detection

Systems, CCTV systems, RADAR, Sonar, NAVIS, C2 systems, and Emergency

Communication. Duties included checking for interference with HVAC, piping

and structure; also checked for adequately sized wire ways and transits and

for proper radius bends in cables. Assembled models and cut views for

extraction. Reviewed final drawings and tables for staging and final

material take-offs. Worked with purchasing department to finalize material

purchase for any field changes. Managed other designers in writing and

assembly of change papers, cleared interference and tracked materials.

2000-2001

Offshore Compliance Industry, Mechanical Designer

Used AutoCAD 02, Laid out P&ID's and Mechanical Flow and Safety Sheets and

Charts for Monitoring Offshore Compliance of Safety. All work was performed

at home.

1998 - 2000

SEMCO Industries, Lafitte, LA Structural Designer

Used AutoCAD 14 to draft and design structural layout for power lift boats

including stairs, walkways, living quarters, handrails and details for easy

fabrication and installation. Work involved electrical diagrams, one-line

diagrams and power plans including details and material take-offs.

1996 - 1998

Plumlee Associates Inc., BP Oil Co., Belle Chasse, LA Piping Designer,

Inspection Dept.

Used AutoCAD 14 to draft and design for inspection department. Drafted

isometrics for piping corrosion management software package, including

plant layout for different systems (Benzene, Chlorine, H2S) and placement

of inspection X-rays. This eliminated corrosion problems in flow of process

systems.

1992 - 1996

Technical Engineering Consultants, Gretna, LA Piping Designer

Used AutoCAD 14 and Rebis to draft and design structural layout for

offshore platforms. Drafted equipment and safety device layouts, safe

charts, Using Rebis Pro Flow layout P&ID's and mechanical flow sheets. Also

laid out, Electrical lighting plans, one line diagrams, schematics and

power plans. Illustrated safety equipment layouts and area classification

layouts. Drafted and designed ASME process pressure vessels, with

Orientation and nozzle schedules, production structural skids and related

equipment/interconnecting pipe. Produced spool sheets and isometrics for

system clarification and field welds. Designed structural stairs, walkways,

handrails, ladders and equipment to OSHA standards for offshore drilling

such as mud trough, mud flaps and trolley walkways. Completed material take

offs and Bill of Materials for all drawings.
