Human Resources Assistant

Work under the general supervision of the S-1 Supervisor as a Human

Resources Assistant, delivering an integrated system of services, which

links soldiers with available and appropriate resources without duplication

of effort. Services includes, serves as initial point of contact for all

battalion personnel; staff the battalion's front desk; receive and route

telephone calls and visitors to the accurate persons within the Battalion;

establish and maintain an extensive and current file system of information

on incoming and outgoing Soldiers to the battalion, local, public, private,

voluntary service agencies and organizations with information and

resources which benefits the soldier; in-processing and out-processing of

soldiers and maintaining accurate gain/loss rosters of Soldiers.

Utilize professional skills to conduct newcomer's briefings to incoming

soldiers to the battalion; manage the sponsorship program, ensuring that

sponsorship letters are mailed out in a timely fashion and to appropriate

family members. Ensure that each soldier has a current Family Care Plan

and updated Enlisted Record Briefs (ERB). Provides key assistance to the

staff and soldiers by managing one-time, special, and recurring projects

and programs such as preparing and maintaining the battalion's

Organizational day itinerary; finding resources in the federal system

dealing with in-processing and out-processing; generating individual, group

promotions and demotions orders. Assisted with financial services within

the organization; ensuring that soldier's pay problems and needs were

resolved in a timely fashion.

Serve as the assistant Battalion Legal Clerk, providing advice and

assistance to the Battalion Commander, staff and unit commanders, on

appropriate judicial or non-judicial punishment to be recommended per

regulations, to ensure that punishment does not exceed authority.

Responsible for the preparation of Article fifteen paperwork and all

applicable documentation. Preparation of charges and supporting documents

as it pertains individual cases. Monitor all soldier's records to set up

or remove flags as necessary; assist with Enlisted Initial Entry Training

(IET) policies and administration (TRADOC REG 350-6) investigations; assist

with all the preparation of all paperwork relating to Article 32 hearings.

Serve as the liaison between the command and the Office of Justice

Administration (OJA). Performs a wide variety of complex and routine legal

and administrative tasks in support of the Battalion Commander's legal

requirements. Independently prepares and/or processes legal actions

including: court martial's, Article 15's, Article 32's and other non-

judicial investigations. Utilize modern office automation systems

(hardware and software), in the performance of assigned duties. Plans,

develops, and coordinates administrative and management functions and

operations. Use word processing systems and other office systems to prepare

letters, memorandums, and reports. Utilize electronic mail and electronic

calendaring systems, as well as various software packages to prepare

reports and briefings and other forms of correspondence.
