PERSONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
Mother tongue Italian
Other languages English - fluent
Organizational Currently, at ToDo Design I am in charge of managing a key
skills and project on home automation by remote mobile applications,
competences involving high-level vision on several concurrent tasks,
management of suppliers and resources.
At the CRIM Lab, I am responsible for the development of a
robotic system for minimally-invasive surgical operations (FP7
EU Funded, > 10ME total budget), which implies skills in
project managing and team leading, as well as deep knowledge
and skills in mechanical design. The system is ideated and
designed by my team of five engineers. We faced the
encountered difficulties finding innovative and feasible
solutions, successfully tested by working prototypes and
generating three patents.
In 2008 my colleagues and I started a micro-garage company for
R&D consulting. Soon after launch we worked with H3G Italy (a
Hutchinson-Whampoa company), for which we designed and
fabricated a new connected robot for home automation. The
prototype was a great success, and afterward, the R&D Director
of H3G joined us as advisor, together with an executive from
Sony Venture Capital. Being an entrepreneur refined my skills
in organizing teamwork respecting schedule and budget,
negotiating with international-level managers and
stakeholders.
Technical The experience in R&D taught me to find innovative and
skills and feasible solutions for solving problems. As entrepreneur, I
competences learned to find them quickly.
During my work at Stanford University, CA and at CRIM Lab, I
acquired excellent knowledge on mechatronics design and system
integration. With Encrea I worked on the design of a miniature
energy scavenger for tyre applications (Patented), optimizing
the performances of the second version of this mass-production
device.
I have high-level vision and skills in project coordination,
starting from a practical background. I am used to operate the
lathe and manual tools in machine shops. Working on
shape-deposition manufacture and casting, I practiced using
CNC drilling and electric discharge machining. I am keen on
implementing digital electronics mock-ups. I am also expert in
article writing and patents filing.
Social skills I am a naturally oriented at fostering new challenges and
and competences growing fruitful enterprises. I am also aware that this often
means spending a good part of the time and efforts in
methodical and well-organized activities. I am a good
networker and by my work experiences I learned to be a good
team builder and motivator in multi-national environments.
TECHNICAL SOFTWARES
Excellent Matlab and Simulink, Adams View/Control,
skills Solid Edge, Solid Works,
FEMM,
C Language, Latex typesetting, Microsoft Office
