As a teacher at KinderCare I spend my morning with the School age

projects, work on homework or do puzzles. I then move to the toddler
classroom where I sing songs, dance and do reading circle with the kids. I
spend the majority of my day in the Infant Classroom. In this classroom I

lessons I perform include sensory, social- emotional and physical
developmental areas.

I attended a year long course at West Sound
Tech to learn about early childhood education.
I would spend every other day of the week at
West Hills Elementary School as a teacher’s
aide to work with children with learning
disabilities. We would develop and act out our
own lesson plans with the other teachers and
then act out the activities with the kids.
Volunteer Work
Throughout my high school career I volunteered at our local skate night
where I would take orders at the local snack shop, handle money, and
make change. I was also a part of planning and executing a dance for
teens at the same civic center. The bulk of my community service was
done at skate night but I also volunteered at Purdy Elementary Make it-
Take it, Minter Creek Elementary School's PTA meetings, and the SAVE
thrift store for a short time.
Last year I volunteered at Minter Creek Elementary where I had the
opportunity to work in their kindergarten classrooms. I divided my time
between three classes where I would get to teach and supervise
lessons, and do individual assessments with each child. These
assessments included sequencing, rhyming, and one to one
correspondence.
Since January 2014 I have been spending my days off at Burley
Glenwood Elementary School. I have had the opportunity to work in a 3rd
and 4th grade class where I was able to teach lessons, go on field trips
and grade papers. I have spent a total of about 110 hours here in a 6
month period.
