Provided quality and manufacturing engineering process management for the fabrication of large steel parts for
ASME pressure vessels, rough-terrain crane booms, and aerial work platforms.
• Established site Quality Management System.
• Developed work instructions, inspection requirements, and supporting processes for plasma and oxy-fuel
cutting, shot blasting, and embossing operations.
• Instituted data collection, defect analysis, and reporting at all key process steps using Minitab.

Product Quality Manager (2005-2006)
Functioned as Product Quality Manager for Quantum’s high-capacity, high-performance SDLT family of tape
drives. Duties included overall responsibility for the quality and reliability of the product from inception to end-of-
life in all application environments, real-time monitoring of factory and supplier quality metrics, regular product
metric reviews, and team leadership for problem investigations.
Customer Quality Engineer (1996-2005)
Served as quality project manager for various multi-million dollar OEM customers. This included manufacturing
and service quality performance monitoring and improvement, new product introductions, site qualifications, part
qualifications, and configuration management.
• Improved major corporate customer’s quality score from 65% to 95% over three quarters and maintained
>90% for 6+ years by monitoring internal metrics, identifying deficient internal and supplier processes, and
teaming with process owners to eliminate issues and maximize overall quality scores.
• Project manager for customers’ qualifications of new off-shore manufacturing and supplier facilities, receiving
approvals from all customers ahead of schedule. This significantly lowered manufacturing costs for the
company.
• Served as a key contributor in development of Quantum’s documentation and engineering change
management systems and processes, increasing the company’s ability to manage inventories and speed the

Manufacturing Engineer (1994-1996)
Served as lead manufacturing engineer for the customer configuration business including development of
production methods, line layout, tooling requirements, manufacturing instructions, support documentation, quality
requirements, and customer interface.
• Directed the development and implementation of a manufacturing process system for the production of OEM
custom-configured hardware for high-capacity storage applications. This automated system increased
production from 5K units per quarter to nearly 130K units per quarter while reducing defects 500-fold to less
than .01%.
• Managed the design and implementation of an expanded manufacturing line. Determined overall project
schedule, capital budgets, production equipment specifications and procurement, and line layout design,
resulting in a 20-fold increase in production.
UNISYS CORPORATION, Pueblo, CO 1985-1993
Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer
Directed process management for the printed circuit manufacturing and repair lines for various avionics and
missile systems for Navy and Air Force contracts.
• Served as a key member of the engineering team that successfully implemented Just-in-Time manufacturing
principles in a hand-soldered product line, doubling production, increasing integration rates, and significantly
reducing defects.
• Developed time standards for printed circuit assemblies enabling calculation of the manufacturing process
efficiencies and accurate billing to customers.
• Estimated work requirements for new business contract proposal requests, ensuring that company’s bid was
accurate.
• Maintained Process Examiner certification for high-reliability soldering applications for the Navy and
Department of Defense.
