Human Resources & Payroll Manager
Argus Medical Management - Long Beach, CA - October 2011 to Present
Successfully manage all areas of HR including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation,
training, succession planning, and worker's compensation for 50+ physicians and 250 employees working in a
family practice medical group with forty-five medical clinics throughout Greater Long Beach area. Collaborate
with Regional Managers and offices supervisors to ensure that all company policies and procedures are being
followed.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Saved over $250K in health benefits cost by transitioning health benefit brokers and negotiating rates and
discounts for renewals. In addition, negotiated monthly incentive payment from broker to cover partial costs
of payroll system fees.
- Implemented and administer electronic timekeeping system resulting in increased payroll accuracy, reduction
in payroll errors and compliance with FLSA standards.
- Plan Administrator of $21 million defined contribution 401(k) plan including annual fund evaluations,
successful annual independent audits and annual profit sharing calculation and funding. Member of the
company pension committee.
- Conceptualized, developed and lead a comprehensive 12-month leadership training/development program
for our Team Leaders, including courses on Microsoft Office, Email Etiquette, Business Writing and Time
Management.
- Plan, design and execute sexual harassment, harassment and alternative dispute resolution training.
- Revamped Employee Handbook and other HR forms.

Successfully manage human resources, office management & payroll functions for a fast-growing, dynamic
organization. Supported the organization through a successful IPO in 2007, public company operation, and
acquisition by a private equity firm in December 2010. Responsible for managing and developing human
resources, general office and payroll staff and creating and instituting programs, policies and processes that
foster a high performance team-oriented culture.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Played a key role in the integration of over 25 acquired companies, determining staffing needs and
organizational development objectives.
- Managed the conversion of payroll and HRIS to a new ADP system. Hired and trained two additional payroll
employees to support a growing number of employees and contractors.
- Worked with the CTO and VP of HR to set up a near-shoring operation in Mexico, employing more than
75 employees. Acted as the liaison with the Mexican human resources department for all recruiting and

- Successfully launched of the company’s first online employee self service benefits portal. Led all open
enrollment activities including several insurance carrier transitions. Negotiated rates and discounts for
renewals. Created and led benefits orientations for new employees.
- Acted as a key member of the team responsible for managing a million dollar company renovation
that occurred after hours with no employment disruption, requiring a higher level of communication and
coordination.
- Partnered with recruiting to on-board over 2000 employees and contractors in a 4-year period. Developed
processes around orientation and on-boarding as well as payroll. Extended offers and facilitated over 100
internal promotions and transfers.
- Managed the resolution of complex employee relations issues. Partnered with the legal department through

Provided on-going support and technical assistance to 100+ clients per day regarding product/service
capabilities and payroll administration. Developed and maintained effective ADP/client communications to
