Veriana Networks, Inc. is a management company dedicated to the development
of next generation media through its three operating corporations.
Director of Multichannel Media Services (Engineering), (IPTV Network and
Operations Management)
. With a very small team, selected, integrated installed and launched
the first Veriana IPTV head end for a local University within three
months, at a cost one fifth the prior estimate.
. Authored and specified the launch portal, managed the portal
development, maintained a high level of service quality, and remained
responsive to student user feedback.
HEWLETT-PACKARD, Cupertino, California 2004-2008
H-P recognized the need to quickly build Consumer Electronics talent,
experience, and credibility for their expanding High Definition Digital TV

Quality Program Manager, (IPTV Solutions, Media Connect, Managed Home)
. QPM Manager specifying and tracking development qualification and
verification of Media Connect products, to insure agency, market, and
customer acceptance.

Thomson was one of the top three global leaders in digital consumer
products, HDTV, Digital Satellite, and Cable Modems, developing and
manufacturing RCA & GE video consumer products
Digital TV Program Manager, (HDTV) (promotion) 1997-2004
. Conducted weekly development core team progress meetings with Skill
Center Managers, directing focus, root cause resolution, and tight
loop corrective actions, resulting in the on-time delivery of HDTV
integrated products. First production start was to the day scheduled
one year earlier.
. Chaired software change board meetings to provide clear priorities
for the software development group. No high-level software issues
were present at product launch.
. Formulated back-up and contingency options for monthly development
RISK Management presentation, tracked and supervised finance
reporting, resulting in clear Executive Management program
visibility.
. Administered the MRD execution as a product, which results in a clean
launch by Engineering and the first to market introduction of HDTV.
Digital Satellite Program Manager, (DSS/DIRECTV) (promotion) 1994-1997
. Point manager in the technical working relationship with DIRECTV,
News Data Services (News Corporation), network partners. Despite
diverse business interests and technical obstacles, partners achieved
on time product certification and network robustness.
. Successfully directed, matrix managed, and directly contributed to
the second-generation digital satellite receiver development,
resulting in a near fifty percent product cost reduction,
significantly improving Thomson margin.
. Negotiated and transferred company Technical Know How, under contract
to co-developers, developed competitive brand products, collecting
over a million dollars in fees, and additional volume from
competitors.
. Enjoyed representing Thomson Technical leadership as the guest
speaker at The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers,
New York, and AT&T Research & Development, Indianapolis.
Project Engineering Manager, (Digital Satellite/DIRECTV) (promotion) 1992-
1994
. Provided the practical and innovative project direction to a Thomson
Research Team and a Defense oriented DIRECTV Team, resulting in the
most successful new consumer product launch in fifty years.
. Successfully packaged, documented, communicated and qualified the
first all digital product in Thomson production, resulting in,
outstanding performance, on-time, and high quality production start.
Manager VCR Advanced Manufacturing, NPI (promotion) 1988-1992

. Two year expatriate assignment in Germany. Successfully introduced
new VCR product production in the new Singapore plant.
. Initiated the first draft of ISO9000 conformance for the Singapore
plant, which later resulted in Singapore VCR being the first Thomson
plant achieving ISO Certification.
Automated Test Equipment Manager 1976-1988
RCA/GE Consumer Electronics, Indianapolis, Indiana
. Provided equipment for several RCA Business Groups, Television,
Videodisc, Monitor and Picture tube. Test improvement maintains
quality with lower skilled labor.
