As a Senior Database Engineer in the Assembly Test and Technology Division
my Projects/Responsibilities included ;
- Acted as Lead DBA to support the migration of a 6tb DSS database from
Oracle 8.1.4 to Oracle 10gR2. Responsible for all loader and stress testing
activities related to the conversion in addition to making performance
enhancements in the physical schema and recommending changes in
applications to improve performance.
- Qualified Oracle 10gR2 Real Application Clusters (RAC) as the future
platform for all future DSS databases.
- Member of the Core DBA Team leading the migration of 3 separate Oracle
8.1.4 DSS databases into a consolidated 20tb 10 node Oracle 10gR2 RAC
architecture database running on 64 bit Windows 2003. Responsible for the
implementation of and migration to RMAN for all backup and recovery
activities. Responsible for the monitoring and reporting on all data
loading components and performance tuning as required.
- Developed and communicated on a test, daily and weekly basis performance
based statistics and monitoring results to RAC team
- Assisted in the migration of the 1st Production system internally to
running on Oracle RAC.
- Lead DBA responsible for the design and architecture of a site based
Operations DataMart consolidating data from a number of internal systems.
This system will be based on SQL Server 2005 and will use Integration
Services for loading data from other Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Developed and tested Performance and Functionality Test and Use Cases to
validate configuration and architecture of RAC Cluster
- Lead DBA responsible for maintaining and monitoring Oracle and SQL Server
databases included in the Integrated Testing Environment of ATTD. This
environment includes all software installed in the factory and simulates
station controller activity with data tracing through all layers to the
backend DSS databases.

Database Administrator solely responsible for supporting a 24X7 Wireless
GPS Location Based Fleet Management ASP set of applications and databases.
Architecture consisted of Oracle EE 9.2.0.4.0 running on Windows 2003
Advanced Server and Microsoft Cluster Services with Oracle FailSafe. The
production databases were over 1 terabyte in size and supported over 40
million OLTP and DSS transactions per week in a Dell\EMC hardware based
environment.
