Laborer (ongoing)

My job requires that I clean and transfer train cars. The transfer requires a reloading of train cars to
reposition the load in the box car. Along with this I perform maintenance work on the bearings. This
requires me to service and grease them. Another aspect of my job is to install silt fences for the EPA as
required.

Describe your job duties and your accomplishments. How did your work performance standout? Receive
any awards?

In my work experience I am able to work and run the following: John Deere Bulldozer and Backhoe,
Case Bulldozer/850G and Backhoe and a CAT Track Loader. I am still learning how to properly handle
an excavator, I have been working with it for three months. I can run a John Deere bulldozer and
backhoe prior to working with Tri-State, but have learned quickly how to run Case and Cat machinery as
well. With my work performance I believe in pushing forward and doing the best of my abilities. If I
do not know something or how to complete a task that is asked of me, I find a solution to do the job
properly. I am versatile with my jobs as I go from laborer to equipment operator when needed. I have
traveled to different sites to meet with federal and local agencies to find the jobs that are needed to be
completed. This has allowed me to use my past communication skills with MSHA and state mine
inspectors to be professional in my work.

Belt Foreman-February 2012- August 2012

Describe your job duties and your accomplishments. How did your work performance standout? Receive

With my work as a Belt Foreman I have also been versatile by being a certified Underground Foreman at
the same time. My job titles required me to communicate with the crews efficiently what needed to be
completed. Throughout the day I worked with many people and had to ensure their safety. Before the
mining crew began their work, I would pre-shift the mines three hours prior. This included, but not
limited to checking with safety codes, including the checking for methane and air currents, machinery
checks, belt checks and making sure that everything was dusted and neat. I have worked with federal,
MSHA inspectors, along with state inspectors. An accomplishment that happened while I was Foreman
was the efficiency of the mines. The belts went from 70% downtime to 10%. I maintained everything

properly by doing my job well. It was a priority for me to make sure that everyone was doing their
specific job efficiently and were in the correct place. This was also accomplished by proper maintenance
of head rise and beltlines.

As a foreman, both mine and section, I have run into the same duties that have come upon me previously
and later on. I pre-shift the mines prior to the morning shifts. Also I would run the production of coal. I
have travelled with MSHA and state inspectors through the different sections. An accomplishment that
had taken place during my time on at Oakridge was the increase of the amount of coal being mined. The
mine went from 300 ton a day to 750 ton. Unfortunately the mine was shut down due to the economy.

When I began working for Excel I started out as a supply man. My job asked that I haul supplies on third

moved up to become the Section Foreman. I was required to work the move the belt and power
