to date
Responsible for AP, budgets, month-end closing and reports. Achievements:
-reduce this position's manual work/take advantage of information
systems
-help management to understand and deal with budget control.
AnMed and American Red Cross 2006-2007
AnMed: Spanish-English medical services interpreter and Volunteer, as a
cashier, at one of their gift shops. Achievement:
-help not only patients/customers but also Doctors and medical staff.
American Red Cross: Volunteer in a clerical position at the office.
Achievement:
-help not only with office duties but with my Spanish-English
interpreter services.
For the period 2004-2006 I didn't work as I moved to the USA and had to get
settled down in the Country.
Monsanto 2001-2004
Andean Region Accounting Supervisor. Controller for all Monsanto's
Companies in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. I supervised 6 people
in Colombia and 1 in Venezuela. Deloitte & Touch supported me in Peru and
Ecuador for all accounting and taxes purposes. Also, responsible for
reporting to Headquarters in the USA. Achievements:
-successful coordination and involvement, as the Andean Region, in the
Spin-off of Monsanto from Pharmacia.
-successful customization of SAP for a new legal Entity in Peru,
complying with all Accounting and legal requirements (local and
Headquarters'),
SAP-Controlling Consultant 1998-2001
Freelance consultant in 2001; Consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers from
1998 to 2001. Worked for projects in Venezuela, Costa Rica, Chile, Brazil,
and Colombia, I trained SAP users; was part of a team to make SAP
proposals; was the Controlling Consultant for several projects.
Achievements:
-satisfy the customers and their particular needs with customized
information systems
-train users so they would be able to deal with the Controlling
Module as soon as they were on their own
-keep the pace with the rest of the team to comply with schedule as

Ocensa 1996-1998
SAP project implementation leader. Responsible for defining and creating
controlling structures and managerial reports. Also I was a member of the
steering committee, which had to make decisions for the project as a whole.
Tariffs and budgets analyst. I controlled expenses and budgets on a monthly
basis and coordinated the budgets preparation.Achievements:
-support my area and other operational areas in order to get useful
and accurate managerial reports.
Bancafe 1994-1996
Compliance Officer. I had to create all the necessary mechanisms,
procedures and policies to avoid the Bank to be used for assets laundry
purposes. Achievement:
-work with 3 American consultants and with other Bank's employees to
make of Bancafe the leader Bank on this issue in Colombia.
Andercol 1989-1991
Information Systems Department Supervisor (1991-1993). I had to create
templates, procedures and methodologies to compiling and developing
information systems and reports.
Costs and Budgets Assistant (1989-1991). I coordinated the preparation and
the monthly analysis of the expenses, revenues and investment
budgets.Achievement:
- develop an application that would let the management team to budget,
expenses and incomes, at the most minimum detail and to run different "what
if" scenarios as a decision making tool.
Other positions 1985-1989
I started working on accounting related positions before graduating from
College. I was an Assistant to the General Accountant for a small Chemical
Company. Also, I worked for Uniban (a banana exporter Company) and for
Intercor (a Coal exporter Company) as an AP analyst. In Uniban I developed
a macro in Lotus123 to be able to record repetitive kind of journals every
month (i.e. insurance)
Before these professional experiences, while still a student, I worked as
an intern for BASF at the Costs and Budgets department and for Intercol at
the AP Department.
