I have just completed managing a 90 million dollar new hospital project in

Wichita, Kansas in Revit finishing construction in May of this year. My

involvement in this project was as Project Architect from Schematic Design

through construction administration. Most significant on this project was

a two day design Charente with the Owner and Contractor focusing on value

engineering and bringing the project in on an extremely tight budget. In

two days we met with the client, sketched functional design solutions, and

drafted them in two days in Revit. At the end of two days we had a

completely drafted and modeled floor plan along with exterior massing

studies. The Owner was very pleased with the result, the contractor

announced the design met budget. This could have only been achieved in

Revit. I was one of the two architects doing the drafting in Revit while

also serving as functional designer.

Currently I am working on a 600,000 square foot replacement hospital in

Lawrence, Kansas for Fort Reilly. The project is a full service hospital

with attached clinic and parking garage. I am serving on the team as a

senior architect designing functional plans and laying out the full

spectrum of medical equipment along with furnishings. The project has been

declared by the owner as a "world class" facility with a Silver Leed

Certification goal. This project is fully modeled in Revit along with

architecture, structure, mechanical and electrical. We are coordinating

with multiple offices, a partner architect (RLF Architects) and working

closely with the client. This project is a model large scale hospital

design representing a comprehensive BIM approach to healthcare design. As

a team we discussed how we would approach BIM, what would be modeled with

MEP modeling executed for the first time in our office (Revit software

having been developed to the point where we could depend on and predict the

results). This was a valuable learning experience for the whole team

developing cutting edge approaches to BIM modeling in healthcare design.

The project is currently moving through Design Development with 100 per

cent completion scheduled in 6 weeks.

I am currently registered in the State of Iowa, Texas and Connecticut with

NCARB registration.

I am hoping to relocate to a firm where I can use my healthcare skills in

addition to my broad range of other project types. My specific goals for

this firm would be excellent design being done in a collaborative team
