Work history

Volt Technical Resources Peoria, IL 04/08 09/10

Jr. Metallurgical Technician: As a Jr. Met Tech I was required to conduct tests of failed mechanical

components from off highway construction equipment. Testing conducted allowed Caterpillar mechanical

engineering teams to determine the root cause of failures in tested components. Before testing could be

completed, components need to be disassembled, sectioned or otherwise processed, in order to

complete hardness, tensile, or stress testing, mounted, polished and etched, for metallurgical evaluation,

or a variety of such processes. In order to complete the testing, direct communication with Caterpillar

engineers was vital to resolve testing issues and process determination.

R.L. Lewis Ind. Pekin, IL 7/07 01/08

Machinist: Caterpillar is key, where every job has its complexity. Being depended upon to make tooling,

run production, and get it done right, was a daily task. Main use of machinery was with Fanuc and Fadal

controls, on VMC and Mori Seiki lathes. Set ups, tool setting, basic program editing, and quality control

were daily tasks completed to ensure productivity.

Excel Foundry and Machine Pekin, IL 1/06 7/07

CNC Machinist: Job shop production environment where as a machinist I had to proof read edit and load

programs, place jaws and tooling. In this position I had to hold very tight tolerances and constantly deal

with material stress, such as shrinkage and growth. Continual improvement was necessary as every job

held its own challenges.

Quality Metal Products Peoria, IL 1/04

1/06

CNC Machinist: Production CNC lathe operator: Monitored machined parts per blueprint readings and

specifications. Use of a variety of measuring equipment to ensure quality parts, was key while keeping

time constraints and accuracy in mind. Tooling placement, setting of work jaws and capable of setting tool

offsets. I also worked as an inventory clerk to ensure parts supply was available.

Bradley Services Inc. Morton, IL 4/01 1/04

Manual Machinist: Extensive blueprint reading, machine set up trouble shooting and inspection.

Production of quality parts while keeping productivity, quality assurance and customer expectations in

mind. I also assisted in quality control, as well as shipping/receiving.
