Owner
Successfully launched and marketed an Accounting and Bookkeeping Service
Company. Designed to help small businesses with advice in organization,
computerized accounting such as QuickBooks or Peachtree Accounting, and
assistance with marketing and increasing company profit. In addition, I
furthered my education by taking a computer course in Comp Tia A+. This has
provided me with a broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware
and operating system technologies including installation, configuration,
diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. I have fully
incorporated this knowledge into my current services.
Peachtree Publishers, Atlanta, Georgia March, 1993 - September, 2007
Financial Manager
Control over accuracy of the Company's entire Financial Department. I was
responsible for month-end and year-end closeout. This involved insuring
accuracy of General Ledger accounts, monthly review of Company's Income
Statement and Balance Sheet, and correcting any discrepancies through
journal entry. Year end closeout included gathering backup to substantiate
all applicable asset, liability, sales, and cost accounts for auditing
purposes. Other duties included:
Negotiating accounts receivable disputes resulting from delays in
processing returns. Implemented a more streamlined and effective returns
processing system to increase receivables and improve client relations.
Reducing time spent on monthly closing cycle with identification and
recommendation of enhanced closing procedures.
Maintained company's fixed assets and depreciation schedules, insuring
accuracy within our financial reports
Lead a team of 4 people, delegating responsibilities, and set into place a
system of checks and balances to ensure an atmosphere of trust in the
associates of my department.

Accountant/Independent Label Manager
Managed accounts receivable and accounts payable for Justin Records, the
independent label division of Justin Entertainment.
Made collection calls to all accounts receivable customers to insure timely
payment of outstanding invoices.
Procured music labels for wholesale distribution.
Key Achievement:
Lead a project to increase the distribution of Independent Record Labels,
resulting in an increase of over 300 new labels for sales distribution.
