Reconstruction superintendent after Hurricane's Katrina and Rita at LaFarge
Cement facilities in Westlake and New Orleans Louisiana
(1) Westlake facility abstained 125 MPH winds and rain and six feet of
floodwater. As site superintendent, established temporary power and control
functions in two days. Refurbished and brought back on line the 2400 and
480 volt plant wide operations in ten days.
(2) New Orleans Facility is located on Industrial Canal in the Lower Ninth
Ward and is the show case site for Lafarge. The site was devastated by
sustained 175 MPH wind with gusts up to 200 MPH. The wharf area was seven
feet under water and the main plant was three feet under water leaving the
entire facility covered with three plus inches of mud from Lake
Pontchartrain. As site superintendent, I had to take charge and make
everything happen. Temporary power and a man camp where established in two
days. 2400 and 480 volt power systems where refurbished or replaced. ABB
plant wide control systems where dried out, repaired and placed back in
operation. 1500 KV dry transformers had to be boiled out and reconditioned
along with dozens of motors ranging from 450 HP down. The resources were
very limited in the region and had to be brought in. The Plant was
operational and turned over to plant personnel and a reduced start up crew.

Cottonwood Texas. Intergen Is constructing a Billion Dollar Combined Cycle
facility that includes four combustion turbines, four steam turbines, four
HRSG's and four 500 KVA step up transformers that feed the grid thru two
gas circuit breakers and corresponding transmission lines. My
responsibilities as the project manger are (1) To set up construction
facilities and operations in remote locations (2) To over see all phases of
engineering including civil, structural, HVAC, Foundation Fieldbus and
energy management (3) To schedule and receive all materials (4) To schedule
all sub-tier contractors in bid negotiations and construction (5) To insure
that all safety, QA/QC programs are maintained, construction and back-feed
schedules are meet and the product warranty is full filled (6) Dashiell
Corporation's Field representative for all interactions with the client
which includes attending client required meetings, reporting, documentation
and entertain as necessary. A typical Dashiell Construction Manager
maintains up to four projects simultaneously. Received Bechtel Certificate

Project - Project Engineer, Produced a feasibility study, scope of work,
budget, construction package, specifications, and procurement for the Ball
Mill and Slurry Mix Control System Upgrade. I designed an Allen Bradley 5-
PLC control system to integrate with the existing medium voltage
switchgear, energy management, HVAC and process equipment along with a
ninety six-point panel alarm and a human interface workstation in the
boiler control house. I lived in the Spurtree housing compound on the
Island and worked on a daily schedule with the Americans and Jamaican staff
to acquire the necessary information and resources.

and held bid meetings, followed deliveries and construction, preformed the
check out and commissioned the final process unit (2) In-house Electrical
Engineer for Ausimont main plant, I handled all day to day instrument and
electrical responsibilities as well as maintained all the I/E Maintenance,
design and archives.

Project - (1) Senior I/E Designer on Dupont Sabine Riverworks Catalyst
Decanter System for C, D, & G units, Performed the field research, acquired
the vendor design specification and designed the construction package to
upgrade the multi line catalyst regeneration units. (2) Senior I/E Designer
on Mobil O&A Chemical Plant Performed the process and instrument diagram
update that is necessary for the Honeywell TDC 3000 modernization
construction package, performed the field research and produced an
instrument, control and electrical construction package for the boiler
house and plant wide movements, (3) Senior I/E Designer for Aleyska
Pipeline (Alaska Pipeline) Feasibility study at the Valdez Loading
Facility, Valdez, Alaska. The basic research was done on a five-week stay
in Anchorage and Valdez. We interviewed management, operations and
maintenance to determine there control needs. Second, interviewed several
distributive control and PLC manufacturing companies to achieve a broad
base of control prospects for Aleyska. The feasibility study called out the
areas that needed attention base on priorities from the interviews. Our
study laid out several scenarios base on performance and cost an organized
form first preference down. (4) Senior I/E Designer - Surveyor for Texaco
Natural Gas Co. Worked in remote locations in two locations in Oklahoma and
one in New Mexico. Field verified and updated all the Process and
Instrument Diagrams to meet OSHA requirements for the facility.
