GE-Engineering Design Group, Inc. - 9/1999 to 8/2001 -
Mechanical Project Engineer Level One
Performed energy calculations, using Trace 600, based on the
requirements of the Inter national Mechanical Code and Building Energy
Conservation Code requirements for the design of the cooling, heating,
and ventilation (HVAC) systems for specific buildings. Designed and
sized air distribution ductwork systems for supply, return and exhaust
systems, for low and high pressure systems, and ventilation systems.
Designed and sized piping distribution systems for chillers, cooling
towers, boilers, and pumps. Selected and sized cooling and heating
equipment based on the results of the energy building calculations
including; intake/exhaust louvers, grilles/diffusers/registers, air
handling units, roof top units, ventilation units, boilers, chillers,
pumps, emergency generators, oil tanks, etc. Designed HVAC systems for;
mix-used facilities (combination of commercial and residential space),
hotels, and critical telecommunications facilities with areas up to
100,000 SF and 90 watts/SF heat loads. Selection of HVAC equipment
selection was done primarily through computer aided software. Systems
were design in accordance with Mechanical International Code (IMC),
ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASME, ASTM and NFPA. Major projects representative of my
experience during this period include:
. Teleglobe Washington DC - Telecommunication and internet Critical
Facility
. Verizon Communications - Upgrade cooling systems for digital switches
and computer rooms
. Georgetown Incinator - Mix Use Building - Apartments, offices, retail,
