PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CLINICAL PHARMACIST at Doctors Park family practice in New Lexington Ohio
(November 2003 to Present). Disease states that fall under my care include Diabetes,
Hyperlipidemia and Hypertension
Responsibilities include:
• Screening and identifying patients using previous lab work or current
guidelines.
• Patient education. Explaining the disease state to patients and what
to expect as their disease progresses. Working with patients to
implement or improve their diet and exercise regimen. Reviewing labs
with patients and explaining what their numbers mean and where they
need to be.
• Implementing or Changing pharmacotherapy, Monitoring patients for
side effects of medications and tailoring medication therapy to fit
patient’s lifestyle and optimize outcomes.
• Ordering and evaluating follow up labs.
• Following up with patients on a monthly basis with an in office visit to
ensure compliance with current therapy.

RESEARCH
2003-2004 Co-investigator with Dr Jeffery Haggenjos at Doctors Park family practice
in the Initiate Plus study. Goal of study was to better understand
efficacy and safety of a standard titration algorithm coupled with
conventional dietary intervention or intensive dietary intervention versus
a standard titration algorithm alone, in patients with type 2 diabetes
initiating Novolog mix 70/30 therapy.
