EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
May ’98 to Present- Roth Young Executive Search/DWS Executive Search and Recruiting- Vice
President/Senior Recruiter. Roth Young is a small independent generalist executive search firm in
Bellevue, WA.
Responsibilities:
Sales- Establish manufacturing division with a focus on the food and light manufacturing
industries. Develop database for new business development (warm and cold calling) and resume
search. Set annual goals for job orders, dollar sales and strategies.
Training and Development- Helped recruit and train researchers and recruiters. Developed
computer programs and Internet strategies to coordinate and simplify research for clients and
candidates. Established guidelines and coordinated materials for training on interviewing and
resume writing.
Marketing- Helped establish Internet strategy for web site and targeted postings.
Outplacement- Established Career and Corporate Services programs. Set strategies and tactics
for outplacement. Developed programs to focus on candidates training needs at a reasonable cost
for candidates or companies.
June ’78 to Jan. ‘98- Meyers Distributing Co.- General Sales Manager. Meyers Distributing is a
beverage distributor in King County servicing over 2200 accounts, doing over $25MM in sales. Brands
distributed include: Coors Brands, Corona, Labatts, Petes Wicked Ale, McKenzie River Brands,
California Cooler, Stroh and Pabst products. Nonalcoholic brands distributed include: So Be, Arizona
Teas, Clearly Canadian, A&W products and Tahoma waters.
Responsibilities:
Sales- Establish goals, strategies and tactics for all brands. Responsible for implementing and
executing programs through the management team (7 directs) and sales department of over sixty
people including pre-sales, driver-sales, delivery drivers and merchandisers.
Marketing- Responsible for creating marketing strategies and tactics as well as implementing
and executing corporate brand marketing programs. Coordinated with our marketing manager
programs and a budget of over $300K.
Human Resources- All hire, training and separation responsibilities for the sales department.
Helped develop company policies and ensured all sales management complied with company
policies as well as federal and state laws.
Operations- P&L responsibilities for all operating costs a pertaining to the sales, delivery,
merchandising and marketing of our products. Managed inventory forecasting as well as margins
and responsibility for a three million dollar budget.

January ’70 to June ‘78- Mayfair Markets (Lucky Stores purchased April ’77) Store Manager.
Mayfair Markets was Western US chain with 17 stores in Metro Seattle. Entered training program
after college and was promoted six times in 2 years to become the youngest store manager in
the Northwest Division. Rated out as the #1 Manager, promoted to home store for District
Manager training. Mayfair sold to Lucky Stores April 1977. Remained as store manager (1 of 2
out of 17) until leaving for Meyers Distributing.
Responsibilities:
Human Resources- Hire and separation responsibilities. Maintained company policies,
trained and developed personnel. Eventually, seven of the seventeen store managers were
trained by me.
Merchandising- Implemented company programs, coordinated all DSD vendor
programs, resets,etc.
Operations- P&L responsibilities. Duties included customer service, inventory controls
for all departments, margins for all departments, store records, cash controls, working
within the company and union guidelines.
Sales- Incorporated company strategies and developed tactical strategies to make goals.
