PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CAD Draftsman, TASC Technical Services, Elkridge, MD (Northrop
Grumman-ES contractor) 3/2005 to 7/2011
$875 million program for the United States Postal Service's Flats
sequence Sorting (FSS) system.
1. Supported Training department by converting and re-organizing existing
engineering documentation into suitable training documentation.
2. Created and updated AutoCAD drawings from engineering sketches and
parts lists, including cable assemblies, circuit card assemblies,
components, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
3. Detailed and updated Inventor Models utilizing program standards and
formats.
4. Created and maintained system and sub-system level Visio drawings
detailing cable and wire interconnections utilizing various sources,
including site survey data, hardware, equipment lists, and engineering
input.
5. Supported engineering team with functional illustrations for program
support documentation.
CAD Draftsman, Apex Systems, Inc., Towson, MD Elkridge, MD (Northrop
Grumman-ES contractor) 2/2003 to 3/2005
Developed interconnection and wiring diagrams and cable information
worksheets on a program designing upgrades the Algerian defense
communication system.
6. Determined source and destination cable runs using existing
documentation, visual inspection, and interviews with engineers and
installers. Turned the collected information into identification and
installation Visio diagrams.
7. Determined and assigned appropriate information to each cable in the
system.
8. Created spreadsheets detailing connector and cable information from
diagrams.
9. Created cable drawings to be used for ordering cable sets, interacting
with vendors as needed.
10. Tracked and incorporated changes to systems that required
documentation revisions.
11. Initiated and completed Revision Notices when required.
Lead CAD Technician, ICS, Inc., Frederick, MD 5/2000 to 1/2003
Illustrated client network environments for DLA (Defense Logistics
Agency) facility network recommendation package.
. Set-up and ran Visio Enterprise and Fluke MapShots software on client
network, analyzed data, and produced logical and topology drawings
reflecting network environment.
. Illustrated client physical site detailing network communication
equipment, user hardware, and cabling information. Produced floor
plans, bay-face rack layouts, and charts.
. Inventoried client hardware using Intel LANdesk Management software.
. Produced matrices in spreadsheet form providing network information.
Senior Consultant (CAD), Keane Federal Systems, Inc., Rockville, MD
(Herndon, VA) 4/1997 to 3/2000
Illustrated client networks with proposed and as built drawings
utilizing input from site survey engineering sketches.
. Responsible for CAD departmental operations including schedules,
tracking, status, supervision, standards, equipment, and supplies.
Worked closely with other department heads and personnel, ensuring
that contractual obligations were understood and met.
. Supported document integrity by ensuring that illustrations and
information throughout documents were consistent.
. Assessed illustration baseline to ensure that illustrations complied
with updated engineering information.
. Produced computer generated site layouts, floor plans and
illustrations detailing Local Area Network (LAN) requirements and/or
as-built configurations from information delivered by engineers for
inclusion in technical documentation.
Senior CAD Technician, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Herndon, VA
1/1997 to 4/1997
Illustrated client networks with proposed and as built drawings
utilizing input from engineers in the field (same project as described
with Keane Federal systems, above).
. Produced computer-generated site layouts and floor plans detailing LAN
information as determined by system engineers.
. Worked closely with documentation and engineering personnel in
completing site LAN implementation manuals.
. Organized work packages, maintained status and schedules.
Technical Illustrator, Harris Corporation, Beltsville, MD 1981 to
1996
Prepared illustrations for U.S. Army Operation, Maintenance and Repair
Parts Manuals.
