QUALIFICATIONS

• 13 years experience in power plant industry.

• Well versed in start up and shut down of plants. Have had hundreds of start ups and

shut downs at West Campus Cogen Facility and also at Blount Generating Station, both

as a control operator and auxiliary operator.

• Well aware of environmental impacts and procedures dealing with plant emissions and

water discharge.

• HAZWOPER certification.

• Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to

the work.

• Seasoned in trouble shooting and problem solving when dealing with the operation of

plant equipment and taking corrective action.

• Use of P&ID's and technical manuals associated with plant.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Team player.

• Create and perform lockout tagouts of equipment.

• Lots of experience in calibrating and rebuilding lab equipment. Including silica analyzers,

sodium analyzers, chlorine analyzers, Ph probes and conductivity probes.

and related mechanical equipment.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2007 - Current

Control Operator West Campus Cogen

Facility

Operation of 2 48 MW LM6000's, 2 HRSG (heat

recovery steam generators) boilers that provide steam

to a 68 MW G.E. steam turbine. Work with 2 gas

compressors and 2 instrument air compressors and

air driers. Also all balance of plant equipment

associated with operating plant. All make up water

treatment equipment, which includes 2 reverse

osmosis units with 2 EDI modules. We provide export

steam and operate four 5000 ton chillers for

University of Wisconsin Madison (UW) campus.

Operation of Emergency Diesel Generator.

Coordinate stop and start times for plant with dispatch

and with UW for delivery of export steam and chilled

water to them. Take on shift leader responsibilities

when O&M manager is off site on nights and

weekends. Follow all work place safety and

environmental practices.

• Being involved with the start up of the West

Campus Cogen Facility from construction

through commissioning.

Auxiliary Operator West Campus Cogen

Facility

Duties included monitoring and maintaining all plant

equipment. Including 2 gas compressors and 2

instrument air compressors and air driers. Taking care

of water treatment area including reverse osmosis

system with EDI modules. Monitoring boiler chemistry

and tower chemistry from lab doing sampling and

testing. Adding chemicals as needed. Handling of bulk

chemicals, such as sulfuric acid, caustic, aqueous

ammonia, and hypochlorite. Operating four 5000 ton

york chillers.

2004 - 2003

Top Relief Man Blount Generating Station

To fill in on all positions on boiler side of Blount

Generating Station. Included covering vacations and

sick calls for all head boiler operators, assistant boiler

operators and auxiliary operators. Responsible for

training new auxiliary operators when hired. Helped

write and edit procedures dealing with plant

operations.

2001 - 2003

Assistant Boiler Operator Class A Blount

Generating Station

Fire 1250 and 825 pound boilers from control room.

Also operate auxiliary equipment from control room,

while keeping in contact with auxiliary operator.

Operate ash handling system.

1998 - 2001

Auxiliary Operator Blount Generating Station

Monitor and maintain equipment associated with

operating 1250 and 825 pound boiler systems

including pumps, air compressors, coal pulverizers

and boiler fans. Monitor and add chemicals as

needed to water make up system. Empty ash pits and

rejects on coal pulverizers.
