• Primarily responsible for overall management of a large multi tiered trade settlement and notification

system. Making several design changes, recommendations, and infrastructure changes to improve production

stability, reliability, and customer confidence.

• Provide overall production support for infrastructure and various proprietary applications for electronic

trading in the Foreign Exchange. This includes troubleshooting, managing software releases and incidents, while

strictly adhering to SLAs and escalation procedures.

• Interface with business users and clients to resolve various technical issues.

• Troubleshoot Unix (Solaris and Linux) or Network issues that may be effecting client connections or

company’s advertising software from Adserver to Open AdStream, which resulted in a savings of about $400K in

Senior Systems Engineer – Information Technology 1998 - 2001

• Manage the setup and support of a large website encompassing approximately 150 websites primarily

running Apache webservers on Solaris and Linux, with some IIS as well as Netscape Enterprise servers.

• Responsible for system administration. Installing and configured Solaris with appropriate optimizations

based on server needs including tuning kernel parameters, Installing system utilities, and writing shell scripts to

automate processes.

• Provided database administration by Installing, configuring and tuning Oracle database primarily

version 8.x.x., including the configuration of RMAN to do hot backups of databases.

• Provide general network administration by troubleshooting and correcting network problems, as well

as maintain network and network security devices such as Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.

• Setup and maintain Sendmail, POP, and DNS servers.

• Designed and maintained system backup using Solstice Backup (Legato Networker) and automated

DLT tape changers. Converted all the systems from UNIX “dump” command, greatly improving system

recoverability.
