Resume:

SUMMARY ______

Productive and result oriented chemical engineer seeks challenging position

in fermentation / research setting.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE ______

Allylix Inc - Lexington, KY 10/10 to

present

Research Associate, Fermentation and Process Development

I Set up and tear-down 2-10L New Brunswick and Sartorious fermenters. I

conduct experiments for process optimization and process improvements. I

also develop methods for cells, nutrient and product quantification. I

create templates for data collection and data analysis. I also run new

yeast strains in fermenters (1-10L) in order to study their metabolism.

Allylix Inc - Lexington, KY 02/09

to 09/10

Research Associate, Strain / Metabolic Engineering

I worked on engineering yeast strains by integrating and knocking out genes

in chromosome. I constructed plasmids that modified the yeast genetic make-

up. I analyzed the engineered strains for metabolite production in shake

flasks. I worked as link between the molecular biology and the fermentation

department of the company. I developed a model to optimize the feed rate of

glucose into the fermenter.

Allylix Inc - Lexington, KY

5/08 to 8/08

Research Intern

I set up micro-fermenters to screen best terpene producing yeast isolates.

In another project I cloned P450 enzyme in an attempt to oxidize terpenes

produced in engineered yeast strains. I was offered a fulltime position at

Allylix Inc even when the company was in hiring freeze

Caffeine dehydrogenase was purified from Pseudomonas sp. CBB1. A genomic

library of CBB1 was made and screened for caffeine dehydrogenase to obtain

the sequence of the operon.
