VA.

I began my Coal Mining Carreer on a work/ study scholarship from
Jewell Ridge. I
Worked 4 years in the Engineering Dept., surveying underground and on
t he surface.
A fter 4 years I had made my Forman Papers and worked as 3 rd shift Belt
Forman at one
Of Jewell Ridge’s 4 Unit Company M ines. I moved up over the next 7
years to 2nd Shift
Assistant M ine Forman and then 3 rd shift M ine Forman.
