SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

RANCH HAND

Responsible for cattle reports i.e. head count. Manage livestock feed inventory, etc. Drive trucks and other equipment to distribute feed to cattle. Examine cattle to detect illness, injury and or disease and check physical characteristics, such as a rate of weight gain. Work with cattle; observing health and condition, feeding, gathering, doctoring, calving, shipping, moving, and hauling. Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, castrating, branding in order to identify ownership and grade, using brands, weighing, catching and loading animals on truck, or enclosures on a closed range. Able to ride, handle and care for horses and work cattle from horseback. Herd livestock by horse to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks or other enclosures. Load and haul large round hay bales with loader and truck. Inspect, maintain and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards and fences. Build and remove temporary electric fences. Monitor and maintain temporary electric fences. Build, maintain and repair permanent barbed wire fences. Maintain general farm site, barns and ditches, with mowing, sweeping and cleaning.
