Inspection and testing of shop applied external FBE coatings on 24” pipe joints and fittings, including visual
examination, holiday detection testing, and DFT verification. Oversight, inspection, and testing of external
coating repairs made with FBE compatible 100% solids epoxy to holiday and damage locations. Visual
inspection and anchor profile testing on abrasive blasted field welds. Oversight, inspection, and testing to field
weld coating applications. Ensuring materials, workmanship, and test results a re compliant with client
specification and NACE/SSPC written standards. Daily reports, pictures, and documentation in Microsoft

2.4 MILLION GALLON WATER STORAGE TANK

Installation of 100% solids internal tank liner including flexible hinge joint base detail with fiberglass overlay
to new steel 2.4 million gallon water EQ storage tank. Responsibilities included development and execution of
written inspection and test plan. Pre- surface inspections and CSN surface contamination testing. Abrasive
bulk delivery cleanliness testing. Daily monitoring of abrasive blasting and ensuring surface cleanliness is
maintained through the use of dehumidification. Final cleanliness visual inspections and anchor profile
testing. Overseeing coating application, verification of product requirements and monitoring ambient
conditions. Dry film thickness testing, high voltage holiday detection testing, and touch repair retest. Daily
reports, pictures, and documentation in Microsoft Word.

Contractor QC inspector for a variety of coating projects throughout the facility conducted under nuclear
coating standards. Extensive concrete coating operations including secondary containments, floors, poured
walls, block structures, and tank pads. Abrasive blasting and mechanical preparation of concrete substrates to
conform to CSP visual standards. Application of chemical resistant coatings/linings. Nondestructive testing of
dry film thickness using ultrasonic thickness gages. High and low voltage holiday detection testing. Numerous
steel coating projects including tank interiors/exteriors, structural steel components and I beams. Anchor
profile testing, inter- coat thickness testing and final DFT. Holiday detection testing and verification.
AERA ENER GY LLC. COATING MAINTENECE
BELRIDGE, CA. (BACC- OCT 2010 to May 2013)
Three years as lead inspector for ongoing coatings maintenance operations taking place in the Aera oil fields
of Belridge, Lost Hills, and Coalinga, CA . During this time my duties also included the inspection and
oversight of multiple projects taking place simultaneously at different locations, and often included multiple
clients other than Aera. New and replacement tank, vessel, and pipeline internal liners. Abrasive blasting and
application of coating systems to new structural steel, storage tanks, clarifiers, free water knockouts, and
pipelines. Frequently using ultra high pressure water jetting up to 35,000 psi for surface contamination
removal, verified by CSN surface contamination testing. Visual surface cleanliness inspections to abrasive
blasted steel and anchor profile testing. Verify and ensure proper product application. Cure testing and final
DFT using nondestructive methods. High and low voltage holiday detection testing. F ailure analysis
inspections. Inspections performed in the field and at contractor fabrication facilities.
AERA ENERGY, 9 MILE 12” PIPELINE
LOST HILLS, CA. ( BACC - Aug 2012 to Dec 2012)
Nine mile above and below grade pipeline. Field coating application on weld joints and fittings. Holiday
detection testing of shop applied fusion bonded epoxy external coating, “hot stick” pin hole repairs. Visual
examination and field repairs using FBE compatible two component epoxy. Internal inspections and repairs to
thin film lining system. Closely monitoring ambient conditions, abrasive blast surface cleanliness, anchor
profile testing, surface contaminant testing,. Dry film thickness and holiday detection testing of field applied
repairs.

16 inch pipeline internal liner application inspections. Monitoring abrasive blasting, ambient conditions,

LONG BEACH, CA. ( BACC- Oct 2010 to May 2013)
Numerous water separators and free water knocko ut vessels. Internal liner installations at steel fabrication
shop (PCL Bakersfield, CA.). Four component high chemical and abrasion resistant thick film internal liner
applications to onsite new steel fabrication. Full time and hold point inspections. Abrasive blasting, power
wash surface contamination removal, CSN surface contamination testing, application monitoring, DFT
testing, holiday detection and repairs.
