Experience

Jan10-present Founder and Consultant at Figgy LLC, specialized in

Imports and eTail solutions

. Product Manager and Technology Lead for an innovative fashion

line of Custom-made Linen Pants for Men. (soon to be

launched)

. Led the Product Management, Artistic Design, and eCommerce

solution for launching a new line of Exotic Artwear.

1999-Dec09 Senior Research Scientist at NASA Ames Research Center,

Intelligent Systems Division, Autonomy and Robotics Area,

Intelligent Planning and Scheduling group

. Developed a search algorithm for generating the Global Land

Survey that handles 10,000,000 satellite images and improves

map quality by at least 30% over older methods (such as those

used for Google Earth). The algorithm, integrated with

sophisticated GUI, continues to be used for newest images,

see http://mdgls.umd.edu/lassi.html.

. Developed the front end and algorithms to automatically

process and execute requests from Earth scientists. Used CMap

tools for modeling requests as concept maps and built a

translator from the XML representation into labeled

transition automata in LTSA format.

. Participated in the integrated technologies demo of inter-

satellite communication system. Designed and built the

schedule revision component which receives dynamic updates of

environment and, accordingly, adjusts the existing schedule

for better science return.

. Modeled, for verification, the conflict avoidance algorithm

of the en-route descent advisor for automating air traffic

control, using the UPPAAL model checking tools.

. Collaborated on other projects in automation, game theory,

data analysis, and real-time optimization.

1994-1999 Assistant Professor, Computer Science Dept, Florida Institute

of Technology

. Led NASA Kennedy Space Center funded projects:

- Enhancing the Ground Processing Scheduling System by

applying heuristic techniques

- Building Web-based HTML Editing and Annotation Tools

(WHEAT) for collaborative authoring

. Received the College of Engineering Outstanding Teacher of

the Year, 1998-1999

. Received the Kerry Bruce Clark Award, Excellence in Teaching,

Florida Tech, 1999

. Taught courses in Data Structures, Analysis of Algorithms,

Compilers, Programming Languages

. Developed and managed a course on Advanced Topics in

Artificial Intelligence (constraint-based reasoning).
