OTHER (10/2011 - Present)
• Took courses in MS Office 2010 at Oak Lawn and Orland Park libraries
• City of Oak Forest requested suggestions for civic improvements from their residents this
year. Using my civil and telecom engineering experience I submitted several engineering
designs for moving telephone plant to improve lighting and improve crosswalks and
sidewalks around schools and areas of heavy pedestrian traffic.
• Worked on homes with Habitat for Humanity.
• Working on PMP self-study.
• Currently pursuing jobs outside the state of Illinois.
Ntelos, Charleston, WV contract work.
FIELD ENGINEER (4/2011 - 10/2011)
• Designed fiber optic rings for Ntleos / Allegheny Power.
• Negotiated site acquisition with landlords.
• Interfaced with property city, county and state officials for permitting and coordinating
work with future road projects.
• I was given another engineers project to correct. My re-engineering of this project saved
$300,000 in construction costs.
• Utilized MS Office Professional 2010 for creation of spreadsheets to create jobs and track
progress.
1
AT&T Network Services / St Louis, MO contract work.
OUTSIDE PLANT DESIGN ENGINEER (4/2010 - 2/2011)
• Responsible for design work and project management of new fiber and copper
construction, FTTCS backhaul, FTTX and placement of electronics for one third of
AT&Ts outside plant in the East St Louis suburbs including Scott Air Force Base.
• Turnkey engineered 150 projects from simple copper up to major fiber optic projects of
up to $450,000 for Fortune 500 companies.
• On one project I saved $50,000 by arranging co-locating a fiber optic cable with AT&T
Long Distance ductwork instead of directional boring through rock.
AT&T Network Services, Orland Park, Illinois.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (7/2008 -11/2009)
• Increased productivity of 15-30 Cable Splicing Technicians (depending on the needs of
the business) by 20% by holding technicians accountable for their productivity and by
extensive cross training and tool sharing of all technicians in a union environment.
• Was recognized in my office as the ‘go to’ person for issues concerning proprietary
systems or computer problems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
AT&T Network Services, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
OUTSIDE PLANT DESIGN ENGINEER (8/2004 - 8/2008)
• Responsible for 3 wire centers for AT&T plant covering the northwest portion of city of
Milwaukee
• Worked with a variety of cellular service providers to provide both fiber and copper
backhaul solutions. Also involved in co-locating on over 30 existing cell towers.
• Involved with the project management of all my projects as well as teaming in
multimillion dollar build-outs which place considerable fiber and associated equipment.
• Designed 650 projects including rehab, fiber to the premise, interoffice fiber, legal
mandate, cell site construction issues, and circuit design.
• Found ways to streamline the issuing of projects to field crews such as teaching myself
ARES (cad drawing) so as to make minor changes to projects by personally, hand
delivering prints or finding ways to expedite City of Milwaukee permits cutting weeks of
the time of issue.
AT&T Long Distance, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
NETWORK SERVICES MANAGER (7/2002 - 8/2004)
• Functioned as the primary customer contact for residential and business customers in
resolving trouble with national and international long distance circuits for AT&T Long
Distance.
• Moderated conference calls between numerous parties working on these circuits,
documenting conversations and escalating to the next level of management if repair time
exceeded time limits.
• Created M&P training guides used within our office by all technicians.
• Received several letters of commendation from customers for the good quality of service
they received.
2
AT&T Network Services, Downers Grove, Illinois.
DESIGN ENGINEER (6/1997 - 7/2002)
• Promoted to management / engineering June 1997.
• Designed / issued 350 projects to replace defective copper cable which eliminated the
need for 5,500 repair visits.
• Assisted in the training of 3 new engineers and supervised and reviewed the work of 8
engineering contractors.
• Utilized Microsoft Office Suite 2003.
AT&T Network Services, Schaumburg, Illinois.
CABLE SPLICER (4/1988 - 6/1997)
• Placed and spliced copper cable and fiber optic cable in all environments: underground,
buried, building and aerial.

which saved 5,000 lines out of 120,000 lines tested. Trained other technicians how to use
the equipment.
• Was assigned to a team to work on a 5 year upgrade of substation protection for
