Worked on the AML project to review customer wire transactions and
wrote reports regarding the origin and use of funds. Was brought
onto the job at this critical time for the bank to help resolve
their issues with the regulators and to help restore their
reputation. Duties included a review and analysis of activities
that could be questionable or suspicious and recommendation of
appropriate actions to be taken. Recommendations included no action
recommendation, additional surveillance or immediate filing of a SAR
or termination of the account. A wide latitude was given in these
reviews and the client seemed willing to allow much of the decision
left to me and the experience I brought to the job.

Called into the project to QC KYC analysis of wealthy individuals
and small to mid sized businesses to determine their cash flows and
business practices to ensure compliance with regulations established
by the Patriot Act and others. Conducted reviews of cash
transaction and money movements to ensure compliance with the
various federal regulations regarding these activities and assisted
in establishing procedures for the banks ongoing operations.
Because of the efforts of myself and others, Chase was able to avoid
consequences that would have been harmful to their standing in the
community and to their reputation.

Traded assistance in areas of compliance and regulatory reporting to
enhance the image and visibility of the firm among regulators and

Was involved in QC'ing SAR's filed for accuracy and content. The
scope of the assignment included activities in nationwide branches.
Was able to use past experiences in reviewing anti-money laundering
material to help detect flaws in the established procedure and allow
for more accurate reporting. The review of the material dictated a
thorough knowledge the Patriot Act and the regulations imposed by
Federal and international laws for the bank to know their customers
and to monitor the transaction of domestic and international
clients. The contract concluded after the takeover of Washington
Mutual by Chase Bank.

Worked in the Wealth Management Compliance and Review Department in
Los Angeles to insure compliance with the USA Patriot Act
regulations imposed after 9-11 for AML/BSA. Reviewed transactional
history and financial statements for all high net worth individuals
and small to mid-sized corporations to comply with the "Know Your
Customer Rule" and when necessary advised the bank of adverse
findings. Was transferred to their San Francisco offices to review
suspicious activity in customer accounts and to File SAR's on
clients suspected of drug trafficking or terrorist activity.
Assisted the company in the process of huge paper flow associated
with the project and organized a more efficient system to move
material to a conclusion.

insure all clients received appropriate break points and dividends
as required by new NASD and SEC Rulings. Conversed daily with IT
professionals and was instrumental in establishing a matrix that was
used by programmers to process information electronically.

Worked in the Regulatory Reporting Department and assisted the firm
with the preparation of the FOCUS Report and the Customer Reserve
Computation as well as other regulatory reports. Routinely marked
securities to market to establish fair value for reporting purposes
and applied haircuts to securities. This position dictated a very
steep learning curve as I was introduced to their system and
procedures with little instruction. It was occasioned due to the
sudden and unexpected departure of key personnel within the firm and
the need for the firm to remain in compliance and to be able to
continue the essential reporting requirements of a major full
service securities broker.

Helped in the Regulatory Reporting area of the firm in the
conversion of the back office and accounting software from Beta to
ADP. Reviewed individual accounts and key chart of account line
items to ensure that entries were consistent with existing books and
records.

Reviewed trust documents prior to the merger of these two firms
preparatory for conversion and entry into the James River compliance
software system.

Worked in the Government Securities Department, trying to resolve
some of the difficulties that arose following September 11, 2001.

In preparation for converting back office and reporting systems from
a proprietary system used by the firm to Phase Three, worked in San
Francisco doing all of the regulatory reporting for the firm
including the monthly, quarterly, and annual FOCUS Reports and the
weekly Customer Reserve Computations. Duties required the month-
end, quarter-end and year end closing and postings to the books.
Actively participated in two NYSE examinations and three financial
audits. Reported directly to the CFO. Was the project manager for
the consulting agency and supervised as many as 30 consultants
involved in other departments. Acted as liaison between
representatives of the firm and consultants. Made reports to the
consulting agency regarding time lines and critical paths and
monitored and supervised progress.
GENERAL
Former examiner for the NASD in the Los Angeles office where I was
involved in routine and special examinations of member firms for
compliance with rules and regulations. Was responsible for a core
group of firms numbering about 20 that were monitored for monthly
FOCUS Reports and for early detection of potential problems.
Additionally, became involved with investigations of representatives
Terminated for Cause and with Customer Complaints filed with the
office. After leaving the NASD, was employed by the securities
division of Security Pacific Bank in the Compliance Department and
later for GFC Securities, an affiliate of Gibraltar Savings, MCG
Securities, William Lawrence Securities, First Securities Investor
Services and Globalink Securities. Globalink Securities was
specifically engaged with individuals in Asia and along the Pacific
Rim in the investment of their finances in U.S. markets.
Have been involved in start-up operations and have filed all the
necessary paperwork for the regulators to establish a new
broker/dealer and have occupied key roles as a principal and officer
of the new firm. Have assisted the firm and founding officers to
make the firm viable and successful. Have worked with front office
and operations department to insure smooth flows of paperwork and
clearing of financial instruments and to facilitate and resolve data
deficiencies and controls. Was able to draw upon personal
resources to assist in staffing of the firm and to provide
additional financial resources when needed.
