One of the nation's original video distributors and leading wholesale
distributor of DVDs, Blu-ray, video games, and gaming systems with five
warehouse facilities in GA, IA, OK, OH, and CA.
General Manager - Atlanta Distribution Center
Recruited in recognition of career history of success to lead turnaround of
the company's largest distribution center, an underperforming $260M
facility with 27K+ SKUs and 170 personnel operating well below productivity
and profitability goals. Identified problem areas and implemented sweeping
operational and process improvement initiatives to address critical service
issues, a record of acute inventory inaccuracies (the worst in the
company), and extremely poor morale, providing leadership for P&L/budgets,
$1M in daily sales revenues, and five direct reports.
Spearheaded facility-wide analysis of roles at all levels and developed
leadership responsibilities for new and existing managers. Implemented
inventory control measures, established productivity/service goals, and
introduced reward/recognition programs; instilled clear
expectations/individual accountability and improved communications.
