Field Service Engineer

1) Commissioning and startup of electrical controls systems in converting

machinery, such as winders, unwinders, laminators, extruders, coaters,

etc.

2) Variable frequency drive VFD startup and tuning including Rockwell and

Parker drives.

3) Training of process to customer personnel.

4) Supervision of trades on site, such as pipefitters, electricians,

millwrights.

5) Programming of Rockwell ControlLogix PLC, using RSLogix5000.

1)Home-based position. Install, commission, startup electrical control

systems on glass tempering furnaces, both domestic and international.

Travel is 50-80%.

2) Upgrade obsolete/older control systems to Siemens S7 hardware platform,

using Think and Do software in place of PLC processor and HMI

configuration..

3) Configure Variable Frequency Drives (Yasgawa) and commission them.

4) Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and process related issues with

the furnaces.

5) Programming modifications to "Think and DO" software, and TI-505.

6) Customer training on process and maintenance of furnaces.

7) Responsible for final customer acceptance.

8) Directing/supervising the work of local electricians and mechanics to

Controls Engineer

1) Commissioned glass vision inspection systems in Taiwan and Japan at

Corning Display Division (CDTT) plants. Long term assignments 10-12 weeks.

2) Equipment responsibilities: vision inspection equipment, glass-handling

conveyors, and servo-controlled camera systems.

3) Project Engineer, order and specify parts if needed, and help manage

equipment install schedule, including vendor time-management and

supervision.

4) FAT (factory acceptance testing) at vendor sites in Oregon, Germany, and

Canada.

5) Equipment install/debug/setup/calibration (Dalsa camera systems, Basler

Vision systems, and Next Instruments)

6) Troubleshoot install of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic

8) Provide on-call production support and training to technical personnel

after the Inspection line is installed and accepted.
