WORK HISTORY:

Balchem Corporation

8/11- 9/2013: Plant Engineer

Responsible for quality, procurement, training, process improvements,

health, safety-environmental and security issues, maintenance and capital

improvement for the site. As Quality Manager: I was responsible for overall

quality program as related to QSR/Medical Device regulations including

approving production batches and incoming raw materials, handling customer

complaints and maintaining customer required specification paperwork and

updating procedures to match.

Specific Accomplishments: 1) Restructured/updated procedure manuals

to reduce redundancy and 2) Installed supplied air breathing system 3)

Installed wet scrubber for emission control.

4/09- 8/2011: Senior Process Engineer: Process Control

Responsible for the plant process control system. CRISP DSC system, Sy/Max

650 PLCs and Rockwell ControLogix PLCs and HMI (Indusoft). All aspects of

the system including backup, programming changes and implementing an

upgrade plan. Upgrade plan involves the process of evaluating and selecting

hardware and vendors for complete system replacement, (budgeted at $2.0MM).

In addition to Control System responsibilities, I supported process

improvement projects, including control programming issues as well as

installing a new cooling tower and assisting maintenance on technical

issues.

1/08- 4/09: Senior Process Engineer: Production Engineer

Responsible for production of acrylic polymer product line: Starting day 1

was a team member on a project to install a new 6K gal. SS reactor system.

As the engineer who would ultimately be responsible for the reactor, I was

intimately involved in all aspects of the project. In addition to day to

day production tasks I performed scale up of new products, taking chemist

recipe and translating into production recipe. Investigating off-spec

batches, and managing product recipe batch procedures.

National Starch and Chemical Company

2/05- 1/08: Safety, Health and Environmental Supervisor

Responsible for all programs related to Safety, Health and the Environment.

Hot work, confined space and safe work permits, contractor safety and

management of change programs etc. Work with plant personnel on injury and

incident investigations and reporting as well as implementing systems to

promote a healthy safety culture. Title V and Storm Water permits including

sampling, reporting and records, and monitoring groundwater wells for a

closed industrial landfill.

5/03- 2/05: Environmental Supervisor

In addition to the environmental duties listed above, responsible for

supervising the waste treatment facility for a chemical plant. Physical,

chemical and biological treatment processes were used. Increasing

throughput was an ongoing goal. Projects included cleaning a 1.4MM gal.

basin and designing a new sludge handling system off the belt press.

Supervised 7 operators. Effluent was discharged directly to a river and

managing the NPDES permit and completing and submitting periodic reports

were routine. Average flows were 70k gpd and approx. 600tons per month of

sludge.

7/99- 5/03: Maintenance Supervisor

Manage functions of the maintenance department including preparing budgets,

pricing projects, utilities, fire system, and process automation support.

The department consisted of 14 mechanics and one Foreman direct reports.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

. Projects related to maintenance activities including:

o Replacing 10K gal caustic storage tank and repair floor.

o Separate city potable water from process water.

o Replacing chiller system.

Responsible for safety program. During the three years as

supervisor no lost time accidents were recorded in the maintenance

department.

. Approve purchases and reconcile all invoices.

. OSHA Process Safety Management System (PSM)- Maintain proper

documentation. Schedule mechanical integrity inspections and

analyze results.

. Write standard operating procedures as well as detailed work

instructions.

. Maintain proper pressure vessel repairs, documentation, etc.

. Develop and managing a written contractor training/safety program.

. Develop written procedures for and manage work permit procedures.

. Training new employees on work permits.

. Conduct annual safety training.

1/96-7/99: Project Engineer

Designed, priced, budgeted, supervised installation and startup of several

projects. Responsibilities also included compiling documentation and

training for operational staff. Completed projects included:

. Installing an automated hot water system on a batch reactor system

including programming the controller. ($80K, under budget)

. Replace a 4000-gallon reactor with only one-month downtime. ($175K,

under budget)

. Replace a liquid-ring vacuum pump with a "dry" vacuum pump.

. Built a low temperature storage facility for organic peroxides.

. Renovated quality control laboratory in conjunction with a plant

expansion. A new QC lab expansion was built. Then the old lab was

completely gutted in order to renovate the entire lab including all

electrical wiring and HVAC system. The new HVAC system was a 100%

fresh air makeup system. Directly responsible for specifying,

purchasing and installing all new lab benches and fume hoods. (Cost

app. $320K)

. Other miscellaneous projects such as reworking piping, installing

gear pumps, mag-drive pumps and metering systems.
