Controls Engineer

CrossPoint Engineering - Westwood, Massachusetts

. Configured I/O control modules using RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000

programming softwares. Modified PLC program in ladder logic and

familiarized with RSView 32 and Factory Talk for monitoring and

controlling automation machines and processes. Initiated creation of user

defined data types templates for the company.

. Performed calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of

instrumentation in accordance with established client SOPs at University

of Massachusetts Amherst power plant. Performed tests to ensure

successful instrumentation operation. All calibrations were performed

under GMP standards.

. Prepared the techno commercial offers for Chatham project based on the

engineering drawings, RFQs, bid specs & using the inputs from technical

/ production team.

. Upgraded the existing BMS operator and engineering workstation at CB

Richard Ellis site. Worked with Barber-Colman Network 8000 system and

LonWorks. Performed data migration of existing workstation by creating a

new virtual machine. Insured proper backups using Acronics backup

software. Field verified the functionality and communication with all

building controls. Troubleshot issues faced during networking and system

integration.

. Provided trouble call support for CIP pump issue at Anika Therapeutics in

the clean room production space. Worked on Allen Bradley PowerFlex 40

VFD.

Technip - Dubai

North East Bab Project Phase -1 (ADCO)

The Engineering contractor was TECHNIP (France) and the joint contractor

was NPCC (UAE).

. Involved actively in the start up and commissioning of the low pressure,

medium pressure (Mistubishi), gas injection (Dresser Rand) and vapour

recovery (GE) compressors. Solved the problems encountered during the

start up of these vendor package compressors.

. Troubleshot and loop checked nearly 1000 loops for DCS instrumentation

during the commissioning phase of the project.

. Hands on experience on Honey well EPKS software package for the

distributed control system. Worked with Profibus and Modbus transfer of

communications and Ethernet network. Worked on Allen Bradley, Siemens

plc's.

. Coordinated with operations and production personnel for planned

shutdown maintenance.

. Maintained and calibrated field instruments like level transmitters (dp

type, level troll, ultrasonic etc), interface level, flow transmitters

(dp, vortex, magnetic),temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters,

control valves(Foxboro, masoleian, ABB, metso, fisher) and anti surge

valves (Copes Vulcan)

ULG/LSGO Project -Takreer Refinery

The Engineering consultant was TECHNIP (Italy) and process consultant was

UOP (USA).

. Installed, commissioned and modified system hardware and software of DCS

(Invensys) and ESD system. Modifications in raw count set, alarm

configurations, I/O settings and all display configurations.

. Foxboro Invensys DCS operation with the client Takreer for loop testing,

continuity check, functional test of instruments in the expansion site of

the ULG/LSGO project . Nearly 800 loops were checked during this period.

. Online modification, logic changes, Hardware addition in triconex system

mainly for ESD operations.

Step Up Project 2- Borouge Petrochemical Plant

Borouge is a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics

solutions.

. Maintained, troubleshot, calibrated and configured various field

instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, level

transmitters, temperature transmitters and vibration transmitters.

. Pre commissioned works which involved the testing of loops and continuity

check of instruments from DCS operator console. Also simulation test and

functional test were carried on with hart communicator.

. Performed simulation and functional tests of instruments. Performed

stroke test and valve positioning.
