December 2008 - Present

Originally, part of a two man team that provided initial start up support

of a newly constructed 50,000 square-foot warehouse, which included the

construction of an elaborate racking system to organize and house Verizon

Wireless Materials. Responsibilities include loading/unloading of truck

and trailers, stock storerooms and work areas. Maintain inventory controls

both manually and/or with a wireless bar code scanner, place orders over

the telephone and work with the vendors. Perform miscellaneous housekeeping

duties and recycling duties. Make routine inquiries regarding material

shipments and customer requirements via telephone and/or face-to-face

contact with clients and vendors. On a daily basis, operate manual and/or

power equipment such as: forklifts, pallet jacks, hydraulic lifts, cable

cutters and dock plates. Drive a company van or small truck (14 or 20 foot

box truck) and transport material to/from customer; load and unload truck

or van through a variety of mechanisms. Using wireless scanning

technologies, prepare paperwork, and perform the delivery/pick-up of

customer material.

As a Press Helper, began to run a six color Heidelberg speed master with a

coater 40inch after six months. Make ready and run occasional jobs on

unassisted. Assisted pressman and other press personnel by keep presses

Responsible for upkeep and maintenance to all Fairfax County Public School

furniture and other types of repairs needed on the grounds. Duties

included soil preparation, installation and maintenance of landscaped areas

and irrigation systems, application of chemical treatments, equipment

operation and maintenance. Cultivated, pruned, sprayed and trimmed, trees

and shrubbery; burlap trees and tied sacks around the roots. Cut grass,

edged sidewalks, and removed weeks from fences and weeds using hand tools

Tended machine that winds paper from rolls onto adjustable reel and cut it

into specified lengths. Fastened rolls of paper into shaft supports.

Wrapped tape measure around reel and turned hand crank to move horizontal

bars in or out to adjust circumference of reel. Removed tape and wrapped

paper around horizontal bar of reel and secure in place with hooks.

Depressed throw switch to start reel, winding paper from roll for specified

number of revolutions. Stopped machine and cut through layers of paper

along groove in horizontal bar of reel with knife to make individual sheets

of paper. Removed paper from reel and transferred to hand truck. Wrapped

sheets of paper into bundles preparatory to shipping and loaded into

storage area.

Worked in the fast paced environment of Food Services Division of a 753-bed

regional medical center serving the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
