SKMTI was incorporated on June 9, 1986 when it acquired the Ballena Rice Mill from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP). The company primarily engaged in rice milling, com and other agricultural products trading business, Caltex service station, and contract hauling. From and exclusive market outlet in Davao City where the Company disposed almost 99% of its rice milling production, the Company has successfully expanded its hauling services as far as Metro Cebu, Dumaguete City, Zamboanga City, Cagayan De Oro City, Butuan City, Surigao City and other major market in the Southern Philippines area and Metro Manila.
