Avionics Systems Design Engineer

Job Description

Summary: Join our team as a System Design Engineer, utilizing your experience in managing or designing within an Avionics Environment and knowledge of relevant engineering processes.

Job Requirements:

Experience in developing or managing within an Avionics Environment.

Knowledge of DO-297, DO-178, and/or DO-331 process assurance (preferred).

Prior experience with A653 partition-based operating system (preferred).

Understanding of engineering processes including requirements definition, allocation, validation, verification, integration, embedded software, electronic systems, certification, and system safety.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams in system development, integration, validation, and verification.

Experience with version control tools.

Position Responsibilities:

Execute plans for system development and verification of air vehicle components.

Generate system functional requirements based on stakeholder expectations.

Assist in the development of architecture models and allocate requirements to sub-systems, hardware, and software components.

Validate and verify system requirements.

Troubleshoot and resolve system integration and verification issues.

Coordinate with internal and external IPTs, suppliers, and peers to develop and execute project/design plans and reviews.

Develop and execute test cases and procedures to verify the system under test.

Manage and coordinate issues, problem reports, and change requests until closure.

Coordinate design changes and deliveries with Safety, Security, and Certification organizations.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer Science, or related field.

Other engineering degrees may be considered with applicable experience.
