Responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the development and implementation of resources and infrastructure that facilitate clinical research operations for the Hem/Onc/BMT Service line. The role will ensure that the HOB CRO has the tools and training necessary to conduct clinical research according to best practice standards and in compliance with relevant federal, sponsor, and institutional policies. The position will directly supervise the portfolio of research and services provided by the HOB Clinical Research Office and will collaboratively coordinate the activities of clinical research that align with Clinical Research Services initiatives where appropriate. This position provides administrative and operational leadership and oversight to all areas of Clinical Research that is complementary to that of the Senior Director of Clinical research and together, the two will promote a culture of scientific excellence and compliance, among investigators, HOB Leadership and the clinical research office.

Responsibilities

• Partners closely with the Senior Director of Clinical Research Operations and the VP of Hem/Onc/BMT in the development and coordination of short-and long-term goals for clinical research • Works with Senior Director and other research leaders to create and implement the clinical research strategic vision. • Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self, and others and supports patient safety initiatives. • Ensures the organization maintains regulatory compliance standards. • Provides leadership, mentorship and professional development opportunities to staff and oversees clinical research operations, talent management practices. Leads retention, development, and training efforts. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary members of the service line to enhance the development of a clinical research culture. Participates

Qualifications

Education Requirement: Master’s Degree in healthcare or research related field, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience, required. Certifications: CCRP or ACRP-CP certification, required. Skills: • Advanced leadership skills in a highly matrixed, academic medical center setting, high level of professionalism and collaborative communications skills. • Deep operational knowledge of the full life cycle of clinical research, including sponsor interactions, regulatory requirements, and staff recruitment and professional development. • Excellent organizational, planning and analysis skills, with strong attention to detail. Experience: • Ten years of experience in clinical research within data management, site monitoring, program, or project management, required. • Three years of supervisory experience, required. • Experience with budget and grant management, required. • Hematology/oncology/BMT therapeutic experience, preferred.
