Job Description
High aptitude for chemical manufacturing mechanical equipment operation and maintenance.
Perform hands-on repair, including field removal, disassembly, reassembly and re-installation of rotating (or rotary) equipment, including, but not limited to:
- centrifugal pumps (horizontal and/or vertical)
- gear reducers (in-line or right-angle) for pump and agitator (mixer) applications
- mechanical seals (single & double types, cartridge styles) and pump shaft packing
Perform pump/motor alignment (laser method and/or dial indicator).
Troubleshoot/analyze problems such as noisy equipment, mechanical/packing wear issues, shaft misalignment, belt slippage/wear, sheave misalignment, bearing failure/damage, and lubrication deficiencies.
Machining background would be a plus.
Working knowledge of chemical plant basic safety; able to document own work activities; dependable; pro-active work ethic.
Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
Work experience in [OSHA] Process Safety Management and/or GMP manufacturing environment a plus.
Capable of safely lifting 20 lbs or better.
Mon-Fri 8 Hour Days
Pay Rate: $33.83 to $35.41
Note: Successful candidates must be able to pass a written skills test and pass respirator fit test.
