Our Cedar Park Texas facility is recruiting an Electro/Mechanical Solder Assembler to perform tasks associated with the manufacture and repair of our downhole broadband tools. They are responsible for assembling and testing electronic and mechanical systems. Assemblers must be able to think critically and troubleshoot problems as they arise in order to ensure the quality of our products. The Electro/Mechanical Solder Assembler will use their skills to assemble, test, calibrate, repair, and upgrade equipment. They accurately document their work and resolve most problems themselves. They work under typical manufacturing time constraints and with minimal supervision. This role is onsite, weekday shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

Interpret technical documents such as work instructions, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Assemble, wire, and test electronic and mechanical assemblies in a time constrained manufacturing environment.

Operate machines and use hand and power tools to secure parts in place.

Mount assemblies or printed circuit boards and route wires.

Solder and crimp wires.

Analyze test data to determine pass/fail status or troubleshoot sensors and devices.

Install finished assemblies in cases, cabinets, or chassis.

Perform assignments under minimal supervision.

Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Education and Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

Working knowledge of DC power supplies, hand-held multimeter, and other basic test equipment

Electronics soldering and wiring skills.

Experience with basic hand tools such as: screwdrivers, hex keys, wrenches, wire strippers, etc.

Working knowledge of mechanical principles

Excellent written and spoken English language skills.

Experience reading and understanding electronic schematics and assembly drawings.

Willingness to actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and provides feedback to management.

Preferred:

Formal Electronics training: Associate degree in Electronics Technology, related field, or equivalent military or relevant experience

Experience with documentation of work orders, travelers, process data, test results, etc.
