Summary: This position is responsible for leading the Commercial Lines (CL) pricing function. Developing actuarial projections to inform pricing strategies and decisions. Communicating actuarial projections to business partners and company leadership. Continuing to evolve the pricing function and improve its efficiency. Training, coaching and developing staff.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead the development and implementation of rates, rating plans, and pricing strategies to achieve the company objectives for profitability and growth.

Monitor actual versus plan or expected results.

Collaborate with business partners on pricing strategies and assumptions.

Communicate pricing projections and insights to business partners and company leadership.

Evolve the pricing function by leveraging best practice methodologies, models, tools and analytics.

Employ continuous improvement, automation, and innovation to increase efficiency of the pricing function.

Partner with the Enterprise Data Office to ensure timely submission of annual exposure data for reinsurance. Respond to broker or reinsurer questions regarding data and rate activity as part of the annual treaty renewal.

Responsible for ensuring that predictive models are running correctly and for the development of monitoring reports for the attribute and decile distributions. Partners with Enterprise Analytics to update the models as needed.

Develops actuarial projections in support of the annual plan.

Lead department and/or cross functional projects that impact pricing.

Monitor marketplace and industry trends related to products, regulations, economic, and market conditions.

Leverage our internal data environment for analysis, monitoring and reporting.

Develop staff through training, coaching, performance feedback, performance assessments and establishing development plans.

Establish, communicate, and implement departmental plans, objectives and strategies.

Ensure pricing work adheres to actuarial standards of practice.

Maintain actuarial continuing education requirements.

What You’ll Bring To The Company:

College degree with significant course work in a quantitative field such as math, statistics or actuarial science experience is required. ACAS required, FCAS preferred. Ten years Property & Casualty insurance experience preferred. Direct experience with a wide variety of products, pricing alternatives and market conditions required. Experience entering new product lines and territories preferred. Five years of managerial experience with proven leadership skills preferred. Strong communication, organization and analytical skills needed to develop and successfully implement strategic and tactical plans.
