Job Description
Summary: Ensure the highest level of quality and nuclear safety through oversight of Contractor activities.
Job Requirements:
Experience in quality control of mechanical equipment for the nuclear sector
Familiarity with industrial processes involved in manufacturing heavy steel vessels
Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and liquid penetrant testing
Experience in pressure testing and leak tightness testing
Willingness to travel domestically for inspections at Contractor sub-vendor locations
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends
Preferred Skills:
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
Strong interest in manufacturing processes of mechanical equipment for nuclear power plants
Ability to draft concise reports with factual conclusions
Reliable and motivated with strong communication skills
Pragmatic and diplomatic approach to collaboration
Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure quality control and monitoring of fabrication activities performed by the Contractor and sub-vendors
Oversee fabrication progress and witness predefined quality control checks
Sign inspection and test plans for witnessed operations
Review fabrication reports issued by the Contractor and report on quality and progress weekly
Immediately report important quality and progress deviations to project management teams
Collaborate with the Contractor in an open and constructive dialogue
Perform autonomous quality control of mechanical equipment for the nuclear sector
Work in a shift regime and be available for weekend work as required
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
