MYSQL / Mariadb Database Administrator

We are looking for a MySQL/MariaDB Database Administrator who can be a part of our team and manage our databases.

What You will do

Installing various versions of MySQL( like 5.x/8.x )/MariaDB on Linux, Windows, and other operating systems in both on-premise and on Cloud like AWS, Azure, etc.,

Managing Cloud(AWS/Azure) Managed MySQL/MariaDB.

Areas of experience include Installation, Creation, and Maintenance of Databases.

Taking online and offline backups, Managing daily, weekly backups.

Responsible for weekly DB maintenance, and production database release tasks.

Worked with storage engines MyISAM, InnoDB, Memory, etc.

Installing MySQL/MariaDB with source and binary distribution.

Perform security patching, bug fixes, and minor upgrades on production, pre-prod, and development database instances

Troubleshooting major incidents, connectivity issues, performance, and database slowness issues for database instances.

Monitoring performance and availability of databases during business hours and on-call hours.

Automating daily/recurring tasks such as user creation, log purging, and daily backups.

Adhering to security norms and providing database users with privileges as per decided standards. Database user role creation.

MySQL/MariaDB replication setup, MySQL InnoDB cluster, MySQL NDB cluster, MariaDB Galera cluster.

Basic experience in bash shell scripting.

MySQL/MariaDB server best practices configurations using my.cnf file

Expertise You Will Bring

Installation in MySQL/MariaDB server database with platforms like Linux, Windows, and other OS.

Experience in working with managed databases on the cloud like AWS RDS.

Experience in incremental backup and schedule backup.

Experience with MySQL/MariaDB Replication (Master-Slave).

Expertise in snapshot, import/export, and DB optimization with the help of explained plans.

Expertise in database migration from MyISAM format to Innodb storage engine to increase performance and betterment of integrity constraints.

Experience in performance tuning, MySQL/MariaDB Circular, Master/Master and Master/Slave Replication, and Percona Xtra DB cluster and resolving Lock and I/O Buffer contention issues.

Experience in database backup and restore.

Experienced in upgrading MySQL/MariaDB server using in-place upgrade method for minor releases and logical upgrade method for major releases followed by MySQL/MariaDB Upgrade utility
