POSITION TITLE: Flexo Folder Gluer Operator

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

SUMMARY:

As a Converting Machine Operator you will be responsible for the efficient and safe operations of our manufacturing machine that produces corrugated packaging to our customers within the Retail, Food, and Medical Industries all across the United States. Schedule :

1 Shift :

Monday - Friday (5 AM - 2 PM )

Weekends : (As Needed )

3rd Shift :

Monday - Friday ( 7 PM - 3 AM )

Weekends : (As Needed )

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accurate and efficient set-up of all folding and gluing operations of the machine in accordance with proper setup techniques.

Minimize waste of sheet stock and glue.

Properly operate the machine to run efficiently and produce quality products.

Ensure diagonal and corrugator scores are broken when necessary.

Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.

Responsible for machine center training with all Post job positions.

Monitor box quality, including but not limited to loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.

Responsible for executing all quality processes of all product boxes during the run, including mis-slotted boxes, loose liners, misprints, and any other defects.

Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to Production Data, Machine Operational Standards, Safety Data, and Quality Data.

Have a proactive approach with all maintenance matters with all machine center equipment.

Properly and promptly complete all maintenance work orders.

Adheres to production schedule and makes recommendations for optimizing order schedules to meet cost, quality, and service goals.

Proactively report any unusual scheduling discrepancies to the Shift Supervisor.

Comply with all established company’s Safety (Lock-Out/Tag-Out & Required PPE), Quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and good housekeeping policies and procedures.

Additional duties may be assigned by management.Required Qualifications:

Adhere to all company’s pre-employment requirements.

High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Previous experience with reading a tape measure.

Previous experience with a personal computer, i.e., typing, printing, and data entry.

Ability to use basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Able to read and interpret order schematics or instruction sheets.

Must adhere to the assigned weekly work schedule.

Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to include occasional mandatory overtime.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

Experience within the Corrugated industry.

Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs is highly desirable.

Prior 6-12 months of experience as a (Flexo) Asst. Machine Operator.

12-24 months of work experience in a manufacturing environment.

12-24 months experience operating a forklift.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will be required to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot, cold, wet, and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
