Summer Intern - Safety Department Specialist

ITC Manufacturing is currently looking for a dynamic, motivated college student for our 2024 Summer Internship program which is scheduled to begin on May 22, 2024.

Position: Internship – Safety Department Specialist $20/hr

Location: Columbus Plant – Columbus, OH

SUMMARY

Our internship program provides experience enabling future professionals with the ability to apply what they are currently learning in school, to applicable situations in a career they are pursuing. Our internship program helps interns gain additional knowledge and skills that can be applied to future positions in the professional field.

The Safety Trainer / Compliance Monitor will be responsible for:

Assist in educating and guiding all employees in safe work practices.

Monitoring the day-to-day safety policies and procedures on the plant floor.

Provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations and procedures.

Assist with training system platform to train employees for ITC’s lockout tagout machine specific program.

Assist in new hire safety orientation and training.

Assist with writing SOP's and Policies.

Requirements:

Attention to detail with excellent communication skills - verbal and written.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Able to communicate with respect to others.

Lead by example.

Computer skills Required – to include but not limited to email and Microsoft word/excel.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Familiar with OSHA guidelines.
