Job Description

Role - Senior Electrical Engineer

Salary - $130,000 - $160,000 (dependent on experience)

Type - Permanent

Location - Reston, VA

My client works within the Aerospace / Telecommunications sector and are on the lookout for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team on a direct-hire basis near Reston, VA.

Strong experience in the full electrical and system design/development of spacecraft or UAVs is desired.

Those with additional experience in the full lifecycle design and validation for RF communication systems will be a particularly good fit.

The client is particularly interested in hiring individuals with a passion for innovating and constantly driving improvement within complex product ranges.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will have the following attributes:

· BS (or similar) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

· 5+ years’ experience in Electronic Hardware / PCB Design experience for power circuit or RF based PCBs.

· RF Design and Test experience.

· Microcontroller, FPGA, Radio and Antenna experience.

· Electronic test equipment experience, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers etc.

· Knowledge of circuit modeling using LTSpice or PSpice.

· Experience in C / C++ / Python programming.

The Senior Electrical Engineer’s role will involve:

· Leading Electrical Designs in a multi-disciplinary engineering team alongside other Electrical, RF and Software Engineers.

· Design of schematics / layouts for complex PCBs.

· Contributing to firmware and test software development for PCBs.

· Design of payload hardware and communication buses for satellites.

· Create verification test plans

· Oversee verification & validation testing

· Supporting testing and certification of designs to relevant safety standards.

· Preparing and delivering technical reports.
