We are currently seeking a Staff Stamping Engineer, Controls and Automation . The Staff Stamping Engineer, Controls and Automation will manage technical aspects of our stamping processes to ensure efficient and reliable production to deliver world class products on time and cost effectively. This specifically includes the Feasibility, DFM, Construction, Tryout & Home line. He or she will support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle.

You Will:

Be an expert in Controls & Automation for Stamping championing and supporting Lucid Engineering / Manufacturing Group’s specific needs and requirements for Controls & Automation

Supports design specifications for RFQ’s

Approve equipment and control designs in accordance to Lucid and local regulations and manages suppliers performance to build schedule for Automation and Controls

Interact and direct vendors to provide equipment and tooling to our standards and performance expectations

Prepare suitable training documentation to enable experience passed on to production team

Ability to troubleshoot through root cause analysis and provide technical support for daily plant operations

Launch equipment and tooling to production floor and support on-going production throughout program cycle

Develop and maintain process documentation and assist with quality documentation

Project coordination, champions and supports Lucid Engineering / Manufacturing Group’s specific needs and requirements regarding the scope, specifications & best practice procedures

Take ownership of the technical management of the products. Address Lucid technical questions and follow up to ensure all action items are completed

Manage internal Lucid Customers, assesses needs regarding priorities, deadlines, and quantities, driving suppliers for on time deliverables

Track and manage equipment trials for SOP

Train Production Associates and Engineering Technicians on techniques and processes

Assist with new product launches, i.e. equipment, dies, tooling and auxiliary equipment

Work closely with multiple departments to improve manufacturing processes

Travel 25-50% to visit suppliers (US and International)

You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

Apprenticeship with 8+ years’ experience required

8+ years of Program Management / Engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

Proficient with PLC & Drive Programming with Siemens TIA Portal & Beckoff required

Tandem, progressive, blanking, and transfer stamping required

Extensive aluminum Class A, BIW and Closures experience with Tandem, progressive, blanking, and Hot Forming

Experience foreign suppliers

Must have the ability to travel internationally

Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills

Working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques – Equipment, tooling, metal stamping, assembly and testing

Working knowledge of production and quality control procedures used in a manufacturing environment

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Effective skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with a wide range of individuals from varying economic, social, and educational backgrounds in a manufacturing environment

Strong time management and analysis skills

Must be capable of working with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and management on a multidisciplinary team

Ability to remain current with state of the art technologies and practices related to the metal stamping process as well as develop innovative solutions when necessary

Able to use MS Office- Excel, Project, Word
