Position Overview

Connectivity Tech Solutions (CTS) is seeking to add a highly skilled Telecom Network Engineer to join our innovative telecommunications team to design, implement, maintain, and support network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and have a keen eye for detail.

As a CTS Telecom Network Engineer, you will work on cutting-edge technologies, be a key member in building out LAN and MAN networks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our telecommunications systems. Responsibilities

Telecom Network Design and Implementation

Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, MAN)

Design, plan, and implement telecom network solutions to meet the organization's requirements.

Deploy and configure telecom equipment, including switches, routers, and communication protocols.

Configure and install software, servers, firewalls, and other network devices.

Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches.

Conduct capacity planning for telecom networks to accommodate growth and changing business requirements.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues such as outages, latency, and bandwidth utilization.

Optimize network infrastructure for performance, scalability, and security.

Diagnose and resolve telecom network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Provide technical support to end-users and collaborate with other IT teams to address cross-functional issues.

Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, processes, and procedures.

Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT team members.

Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Evaluate and recommend upgrades to support increased network traffic.

Ability to understand mapping programs and key identifiers in a fiber optic network

Ability to read and understand Engineering construction redline prints

Ability to read and understand Power Meter and OTDR reports

Operate an OTDR, light source, and power meter

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Proven experience as a Network Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, or similar role

Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP Subnets)

Hands-on experience with networking hardware and software (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, VMware)

Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios)

Familiarity with Linux, Windows, Mac

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Requires On-Site Customer Travel

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA) are a plus
