Job Title: Designer/ Drafter

Salary: $50,000-$66,000, Non-Exempt

Day Shift Schedule: 8:30am-5:00pm with some overtime as needed.

Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, up to 3% retirement contribution, vacation and sick time.

Eligibility to work in the United States required and possess a valid driver’s license.

Summary

Under supervision of the Pre-Construction Manager, performs administrative and professional architectural work by managing projects from pre-construction through completion of each project. Provides leadership to the project and coordinates with the internal and external project design team in the design of construction projects. Serves as the liaison between the design team and the construction personnel.

Responsibilities

The following is a list of representative duties. Other duties may be assigned that may reasonably follow and relate to essential tasks.

1. Plans and prepares Preliminary drawings, bidding documents, and construction documents of projects. Including code studies, permitting, and as-built.

2. Coordinate to produce drawings, specifications, and deliverables by consultants (mainly Structural and MEP engineers) in line with the clients needs.

3. Create commonly used parametric Revit Families for future projects as needed.

4. Manage and 3D model and produce renderings for clients.

5. Attend project meetings, including meeting with clients at the job site during construction phase.

6. To learn associated administrative work with submitting permits, converse with city officials, and internal compliance.

7. Follow basic safety instructions given by clients when visiting their heavy industrial factories for whatever reason.

8. Interpret client needs and be able to succinctly communicate, both verbal and written to subcontractors about the job pertinent to their respective trades.

Qualifications

Experience and skills

1. Be able to read and decipher all relative code materials; including but not limited to, architectural, energy, fire, and zoning ordinance.

2. Basic knowledge of building systems and architectural principles.

3. Be aware of basic safety standards at construction fields and job sites. Including heavy industrial plants when doing field research.

4. Take 2D drawings and be able to understand it in 3D space.

5. Possess solid administrative organizational skills with good understanding of Windows files structure and naming conventions. For construction management, we use Procore.

6. Proficient in the following programs (daily use):

- Autodesk AutoCAD

- Autodesk REVIT

- Microsoft Word

- Microsoft Excel

7. Experience preferred in the following programs:

- Autodesk Civil3D

- Twinmotion

- Microsoft Project

- Bluebeam Revu

- Adobe Illustrator

- Adobe Photosho

8. We do not use the following programs; however, we are open to incorporating them:

- Autodesk Navisworks

- Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper

- Autodesk Dynamo for REVIT

9. Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.

10. Represent the company at all times with high moral and ethical conduct.

11. Willing to travel as needed, and work in bilingual office settings.

Education and Certifications/Licenses

1. Graduation from NAAB accredited institution or similar level education program preferred.

Environmental and Physical Demands of the Position

1. Typical office and construction site environment; Physically fit to walk in the construction site from one end to the other, ability to climb up to the roof, stairs, etc. to monitor construction activities.

2. Bending/twisting and reaching; Lifting and carrying 50 pounds or less

3. Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and stooping
