Reporting directly to the Director of Retail Sales, the Customer Category Manager (CCM) will be responsible for analyzing, implementing, and evaluating their business at specific key customer assignments to achieve sales objectives. The CCM manages assigned categories and customer responsibilities, acting as a liaison between the T. Marzetti Sales team and the Customer’s key contacts. They are responsible for delivering sales objectives and targets, utilizing the intersection of brand and customer strategies, while adhering to company policies and procedures.

The CCM will work with support of the Director of Retail Sales to carefully analyze, recommend, and implement all strategies and tactics agreed upon that maximizes long term volume and profits for the company.The CCM manages assigned categories and customer responsibilities, acting as a liaison between the T. Marzetti Sales team, external broker partners and the Customer’s key contacts. Additional responsibilities include recommending and managing promotions/merchandising activities and supporting volume forecasting and business reporting.

Responsibilities

Develop rapport and manage relationship with key customer and broker partner contacts contacts, ensuring achievement of base business objectives (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Promotions)

Manages Trade plans execution and updates in Trade management & Customer Systems

Facilitates and supports Deduction Management (research, clearing, reconcile) with key broker contacts and internal T. Marzetti contacts

Assists external broker partners with Customer Contracts & specific customer system interface (Master data/New item set up, pricing, data entry

Daily interaction with Director for strategic direction / oversight (Trade, Revenue, Forecasts)

Interactions with customers and external broker partners for the planning and execution of trade, new items, and supply chain forecasts

Interface with customers at meetings, presentations, etc. to support Direct Customer objectives

Travel expected up to 25%-30%

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Economics or equivalent experience.

2-5 years in CPG HQ or Field Sales supporting key customers including reporting, planning, indirect selling, and sales execution.

Strong sales and customer relationship background with an understanding of business processes and/or Category Management.

Ability to work within team environment, collaborating cross-functionally and vertically within the organization.

Strong technical skills including MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.) and experience with IRI, Trade Management Systems, etc.

Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility. The noise level in the office is quiet. Occasional travel to plants or meetings is required.
