The primary responsibility of the Precertification Specialist is to obtain prior authorizations for services ordered by our healthcare providers.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare business office setting with working knowledge of the prior authorization process
Detailed understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology
Familiarity in oncology and/or NextGen is highly desirable
Familiar with NCCN Guidelines pertaining to Medical Necessity
Experience in oncology preferred, but not required
Ability to prioritize competing demands and strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor and outstanding customer service skills.
