Job Description
Position Description: Attend to customers’ needs in a friendly, welcoming way while taking and delivering food and beverage orders quickly and accurately with excellent customer service.
Performance Responsibilities and Standards:
Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.
Greet customers upon entrance.
Present restaurant menus, specials, and help customers select food/beverages.
Take and serve orders.
Collaborate with other servers and kitchen/bar staff.
Handle complaints and problems with a positive attitude.
Issue bills and accept payment.
Use point-of-sale system to submit orders to kitchen/bar and to accept payments.
Keep waitress stations and front-of-house areas clean throughout and after shifts.
Serve banquets and events as needed - passing hors d’oeuvres, clearing tables, replenishing buffet foods, and attending to event guests.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED
3+ years of experience working as a server or waiter in a similar setting.
Ability to learn and use point-of-sale systems with basic computer skills.
Attention to cleanliness and safety.
Patience and customer-oriented approach
Responsible and trustworthy.
Flexible availability.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements:
Able to work in a standing position for long periods.
Able to reach and bend and frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category III – Employee who rarely has contact with blood and body fluids.
